✧ Indeed, he heard Rifa'ah b. Rafi'—a man from the people of Badr—say: "He said takbir in his prayer, and said: 'Allahu akbar, O Allah, to You belongs all praise, and to You belongs all sovereignty, and to You returns the whole affair. I ask You of all good, and I seek refuge in You from all evil.'"

كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ، فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلَانِ: أَنْصَارِيٌّ، وَثَقَفِيٌّ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ الثَّقَفِيُّ: أَخْبِرْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ عَمَّا جِئْتُ أَسْأَلُكَ عَنْهُ، قَالَ ﷺ: « جِئْتَ تَسْأَلُنِي عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ »، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، قَالَ ﷺ: « ثُمَّ إِذَا قُمْتَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَاقْرَأْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ، ثُمَّ إِذَا رَكَعْتَ فَأَمْكِنْ يَدَيْكَ مِنْ رُكْبَتَيْكَ، وَافْرُقْ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِكَ حَتَّى تَطْمَئِنَّ رَاكِعًا، ثُمَّ إِذَا سَجَدْتَ فَمَكِّنْ وَجْهَكَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ حَتَّى تَطْمَئِنَّ سَاجِدًا، وَصَلِّ مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ وَآخِرِهِ ». قَالَ: أَرَأَيْتُكَ إِنْ صَلَّيْتُ اللَّيْلَ كُلَّهُ ؟ قَالَ ﷺ: فَإِنَّكَ إِذًا أَنْتَ
✧ I was sitting with the Messenger of God ﷺ in the mosque of al-Khayf, and two men came to him: an Ansari and a Thaqafi. Then he mentioned the hadith. He said: The Thaqafi said: Tell me, O Messenger of God, about what I have come to ask you. He ﷺ said: 'You have come to ask me about the prayer.' Then he mentioned the hadith. He ﷺ said: 'Then when you stand for prayer, recite what is easy of the Quran. Then when you bow, place your hands firmly on your knees and spread your fingers until you are at rest bowing. Then when you prostrate, place your face firmly in prostration until you are at rest prostrating. And pray at the beginning of the night and at its end.' He said: What do you think if I pray the entire night? He ﷺ said: 'Then indeed you will...'

✧ A man came while the Prophet ﷺ was in prayer. When he reached the row, he said: Allah is the greatest, a great (greatness); and praise be to Allah in abundance; and glory be to Allah morning and evening. When the Prophet ﷺ finished his prayer, he said: Who is the one who uttered these words? The man said: I, O Messenger of Allah, and I intended by them only good. He said: I saw the gates of heaven opened for them. Ibn 'Umar ؓ said: I have not abandoned them since I heard them.

✧ A man stood behind the Prophet ﷺ while he was in prayer and said: Praise be to Allah, much, good, blessed in it. When the Prophet ﷺ finished his prayer, he said: Who is the one who spoke? A man from the group said: I. He ﷺ said: I saw twelve angels rushing to it, which of them would write it down?

✧ It was said to Ibn 'Umar ؓ, or a man said to him: I pray behind so-and-so, and he prolongs the prayer. He said: Two rak'ahs of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were lighter than one rak'ah of the prayer of so-and-so, or were like the prayer of so-and-so, or like one rak'ah of the prayer of so-and-so.

✧ The Prophet ﷺ prayed the dawn prayer with them, and recited to them the two shortest surahs of the Qur'an, or the most concise. He said: When he finished the prayer, Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, or Mu'adh ؓ, said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah, I saw you pray a prayer the like of which I have never seen you pray before.' He ﷺ said: 'Did you not hear the crying of the child behind me in the women's row? I wanted to free his mother for him.'

✧ I came to Anas ؓ and said: 'Tell me about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' He led his household in prayer and prayed the noon and afternoon prayers with us, reciting in a low voice. He recited al-Mursalat, al-Nazi'at, 'Amma yatasa'alun, and similar surahs.

✧ I was given three traits: prayer in rows, I was given the greeting of peace, which is the greeting of the people of Paradise, and I was given Amin, which no one before you was given, unless Allah, Blessed and Exalted, gave it to Aaron, for Moses ﷺ used to supplicate and Aaron ﷺ would say Amin.

✧ A man entered the mosque, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard the sound of his sandals. When he said the salutation, he said: 'How did you catch us?' He said: 'In prostration, so I prostrated.' ✧ Qunut in the morning prayer was mentioned to Abu Mijlaz, and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man to the tribe of so-and-so and said: "Look, if they give permission, then pass them by to the tribe of so-and-so." When he came to them asking them, a man entered, donned his armor—meaning his weapon—then went out to the messenger of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and stabbed him, throwing him down. The messenger of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Allah, I am the messenger of Your Messenger: convey my greetings to him." He said: The Prophet ﷺ said: "And peace be upon you all." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, we did not see anyone!" He ﷺ said: "So-and-so was killed, and he sent me greetings." Then he stood with them for a month at the end of the dawn prayer, saying: "O Allah, take the Banu 'Usayyah: they disobeyed their Lord, and take the Banu Dhakwan." He said: Then he abandoned it, and there was nothing besides that.'

He ﷺ said, 'Indeed, Mikail (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while returning from pursuing the people, and there was dust on his wing. He smiled at me, so I smiled back at him.'

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man who did not complete his bowing or his prostration. He said: "If this man were to die in the state he is in, he would die upon other than the religion of Muhammad ﷺ." As for bowing along with prostration, the likeness of one who prays but does not complete his bowing or prostration is that of a hungry man who eats only one or two dates, which do not satisfy him at all.

كَانَتْ لَيْلَتِي مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَانْسَلَّ، فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ أَتَى بَعْضَ نِسَائِهِ، فَخَرَجْتُ غَيْرَى، فَإِذَا بِهِ ﷺ سَاجِدًا كَالثَّوْبِ الطَّرِيحِ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: سَجَدَ لَكَ سَوَادِي، وَخَيَالِي، وَآمَنَ بِكَ فُؤَادِي، هَذِهِ يَدِي، وَمَا جَنَيْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي، يَا عَظِيمُ يُرْجَى لِكُلِّ عَظِيمٍ، فَاغْفِرِ الذَّنْبَ الْعَظِيمَ، فَرَفَعَ ﷺ رَأْسَهُ وَقَالَ: مَا أَخْرَجَكِ ؟ قُلْتُ: ظَنَنْتُ ظَنًّا، قَالَ ﷺ: إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ، فَاسْتَغْفِرِي اللهَ تَعَالَى، إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ أَتَانِي، فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقُولَ هَذِهِ الْكَلِمَاتِ الَّتِي سَمِعْتِ، فَقُولِيهَا فِي سُجُودِكِ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ قَالَهَا لَمْ يَرْفَعْ رَأْسَهُ حَتَّى يُغْفَرَ لَهُ
✧ It was my night with the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he slipped away. I thought he had gone to one of his other wives, so I went out feeling jealous. Then I found him ﷺ prostrating like a garment thrown on the ground. I heard him saying: 'My physical form and my inner self have prostrated to You, and my heart has believed in You. This is my hand and what I have committed against myself. O Great One, from whom every great thing is hoped, forgive the great sin.' Then he ﷺ raised his head and said: 'What brought you out?' I said: 'I had a thought.' He ﷺ said: 'Some thoughts are sinful. Seek forgiveness from God Almighty. Gabriel ﷺ came to me and ordered me to say these words that you heard. Say them in your prostration, for whoever says them will not raise his head before he is forgiven.'

✧ I say: Muhammad b. Umar is al-Waqidi: very weak, but he is not alone in narrating it. Abu Ya'la said: Musa b. Muhammad b. Hayyan narrated to us, Muhammad b. Abi al-Wazir Abu al-Mutarraf narrated to us, from Abdullah b. Ja'far: something similar. Abdullah b. Ja'far alone narrated it - and he is the father of Ali b. al-Madini - and he is weak, and he erred in its chain. Rather, Amir b. Sa'd narrated it from al-Abbas b. Abd al-Muttalib ؓ. This is how Muslim and the authors of the Sunan reported it.

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was praying in my house, and Ali b. Abi Talib ؓ came and stood beside him on his right. A scorpion approached the Prophet ﷺ, but when it drew near to him, it was turned away. Then it approached Ali, so he took a sandal and killed it while he was praying. When he finished his prayer, he said ؓ: 'May God fight it! It approached the Prophet ﷺ and was turned away from him, then it came toward me.' The Messenger of God ﷺ did not see any harm in killing it during prayer.

✧ I heard Ibn 'Umar ؓ say at the end of the prayer: 'O Allah, You are Peace, and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.' Then I prayed beside 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr ؓ and heard him say them, so I said to him: 'I heard Ibn 'Umar ؓ say the same as you say!' 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr ؓ said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say them at the end of his prayer.'

✧ A man prayed beside 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar ؓ, and when he finished his prayer, he sat supplicating... and he mentioned it. He said: Then he prayed beside 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr ؓ and said the same. The man said to him: 'This is a supplication I heard from your brother 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar ؓ.'

إِنَّهَا جَاءَتْ بِعُكَّةِ سَمْنٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ... فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ: قَالَ: ثُمَّ عَلَّمَهَا أَنْ تَقُولَ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ عَشْرًا: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ عَشْرًا، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ عَشْرًا، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ عَشْرًا
✧ She came with a small skin of ghee to the Messenger of God ﷺ... and he mentioned the hadith. He said: Then he taught her to say after every prayer ten times: 'Glory be to God' ten times, 'Praise be to God' ten times, and 'God is greatest' ten times.

✧ Anas ibn Malik ؓ prayed in the mosque of Banu Rifa'ah over here, and he ordered a man from his companions to give the call to prayer, and he led them in the dawn prayer. When he finished his prayer, he turned to the people and said: The Messenger of God ﷺ, when he prayed with his companions, would turn to the people and say: 'O God, I seek refuge with You from a deed that disgraces me. O God, I seek refuge with You from wealth that makes me arrogant. O God, I seek refuge with You from a companion who destroys me. O God, I seek refuge with You from a hope that distracts me. O God, I seek refuge with You from poverty that makes me forget.'

شَكَى فُقَرَاءُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ مَا فَضُلَ بِهِ أَغْنِيَاؤُهُمْ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ: هَؤُلَاءِ إِخْوَانُنَا آمَنُوا إِيمَانَنَا، وَصَلَّوْا صَلَاتَنَا، وَصَامُوا صِيَامَنَا، وَلَهُمْ عَلَيْنَا فَضْلٌ فِي الْأَمْوَالِ: يَتَصَدَّقُونَ، وَيَصِلُونَ الرَّحِمَ، وَنَحْنُ فُقَرَاءُ لَا نَجِدُ ذَلِكَ ؟ فَقَالَ ﷺ: أَفَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ إِنْ صَنَعْتُمُوهُ أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَضْلَهُمْ ؟ قُولُوا فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً، وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً تَدَارَكُوا مِثْلَ فَضْلِهِمْ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ الْأَغْنِيَاءَ، فَقَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَاءُوهُ فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِخْوَانُنَا يَقُولُونَ مِثْلَ مَا نَقُولُ. قَالَ ﷺ: ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ، أَلَا أُبَشِّرُكُمْ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْفُقَرَاءِ ؟ إِنَّ فُقَرَاءَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ قَبْلَ أَغْنِيَائِهِمْ بِنِصْفِ يَوْمٍ خَمْسِمِائَةِ عَامٍ
✧ The poor among the Muslims complained about the superiority the rich had over them. They said: O Messenger of God, these are our brothers: they believed as we believed, prayed as we prayed, fasted as we fasted, but they have an advantage over us in wealth: they give charity and maintain family ties, while we are poor and cannot do that. He ﷺ said: Shall I not tell you something that, if you do it, you will catch up with their virtue? Say after every prayer: 'God is greatest' eleven times, 'Praise be to God' eleven times, 'Glory be to God' eleven times, and 'There is no god but God alone, no partner with Him' eleven times: you will attain the like of their virtue. The rich heard of that and said the same as the Messenger of God ﷺ commanded them. They came to him and said: O Messenger of God, our brothers say the same as we say. He ﷺ said: That is the grace of God, which He gives to whom He wills. Shall I give you glad tidings, O company of the poor? The poor believers will enter Paradise before their rich ones by half a day, which is five hundred years.

✧ Three things: whoever comes with them with faith will enter from whichever of the gates of Paradise he wishes and will be married to as many of the wide-eyed houris as he wishes: whoever pardons his killer, pays a hidden debt, and recites after every obligatory prayer: 'Say: He is God, the One.' Abu Bakr ؓ said: Or one of them, O Messenger of God? He ﷺ said: Or one of them.

تَزَوَّجَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ؓ امْرَأَةً مِنَّا، فَسَكَنَ فِينَا، فَصَنَعَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْحَيِّ طَعَامًا، فَدَعَا الْحَيَّ وَدَعَا الْحَسَنَ ؓ قَالَ: فَلَمْ أَرَ الْحَسَنَ ؓ أَجَابَهُ، قَالَ: فَرَأَيْتُ الْحَسَنَ ؓ يُشِيرُ إِلَى مَوْلًى لَهُ، فَلَمَّا قَامَ الْحَسَنُ ؓ فَانْصَرَفَ جِئْتُ لِأَسْأَلَ مَوْلَاهُ عَمَّا بَطَّأَ بِهِ عَنِ الدَّعْوَةِ، وَعَمَّا كَانَ يُشِيرُ إِلَيْهَا، قَالَ: فَلَقِيتُ الْحَسَنَ ؓ، فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ، فَرَدَّ عَلَيَّ وَحَيَّانِي، وَقَالَ: مَا جَاءَ بِكَ يَا فُلَانُ ؟ أَلَكَ حَاجَةٌ ؟ قُلْتُ: يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللهِ: جِئْتُ لِأَسْأَلَ مَوْلَاكَ عَمَّا بَطَّأَ بِكَ عَنِ الدَّعْوَةِ، وَعَمَّا كُنْتَ تُشِيرُ إِلَيْهِ ؟ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ ؓ: أَنَا أُحَدِّثُكَ ذَلِكَ: أَمَّا الَّذِي بَطَّأَنِي عَنْهَا، فَكُنْتُ صَائِمًا، وَأَمَّا الَّذِي كُنْتُ أُشِيرُ إِلَيْهِ فَكُنْتُ أَسْأَلُهُ: أَطَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَمْ لَا ؟ ثُمَّ حَدَّثَ الْحَسَنُ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَنْ صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ يَذْكُرُ اللهَ تَعَالَى حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ: كَانَ لَهُ سِتْرًا أَوْ حِجَابًا مِنَ النَّارِ
✧ Al-Hasan ibn Ali ؓ married a woman from among us and settled among us. A man from the tribe made food and invited the tribe and invited al-Hasan ؓ. He said: I did not see al-Hasan ؓ accept his invitation. He said: I saw al-Hasan ؓ gesture to a servant of his. When al-Hasan ؓ stood and left, I came to ask his servant about what delayed him from the invitation and what he was gesturing about. He said: I met al-Hasan ؓ and greeted him, and he returned my greeting and welcomed me, saying: What brings you, O so-and-so? Do you have a need? I said: O son of the Messenger of God, I came to ask your servant about what delayed you from the invitation and what you were gesturing about. Al-Hasan ؓ said: I will tell you that. As for what delayed me from it, I was fasting. As for what I was gesturing about, I was asking him: Has the sun risen or not? Then al-Hasan ؓ narrated, saying: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Whoever prays the dawn prayer then sits remembering God Almighty until the sun rises, it will be for him a screen or a veil from the Fire.

✧ His uncle Wāsiʿ b. Ḥabbān was standing praying in the mosque while Ibn ʿUmar ؓ was leaning his back against the qiblah wall of the mosque. When Wāsiʿ finished, he turned to his left toward Ibn ʿUmar ؓ and sat with him. Ibn ʿUmar ؓ said to him: 'What prevents you from turning to your right?' He said: 'I saw you, so I turned toward you.' Ibn ʿUmar ؓ said: 'You have done well. Some people say: When you are praying and you finish, turn to your right.' Ibn ʿUmar ؓ said: 'When you are praying and you finish, turn to your right if you wish, or to your left if you wish.'

✧ I saw in a dream as if I were under a tree, and as if the tree were reciting [Sūrat] Ṣād. When it reached the prostration, it prostrated and said in its prostration: 'O God, forgive me thereby a sin; O God, remove from me thereby a burden; grant me thereby gratitude; and accept it from me as You accepted from Your servant David his prostration.' So I went to the Messenger of God ﷺ and told him. He said: 'Did you prostrate, O Abū Saʿīd?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'You are more deserving of prostration than the tree.' Then the Messenger of God ﷺ recited Sūrat Ṣād, and when he came to the prostration, he said in his prostration what the tree had said in its prostration.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited a sick person while I was with him. He saw him praying and prostrating on a cushion, so he forbade him and said: 'If you are able to prostrate on the ground, prostrate; otherwise gesture, and make the prostration lower than the bowing.'

إِذَا أَرَادَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَمْرًا، فَلْيَقُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ، وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ كَذَا وَكَذَا - فِي الْأَمْرِ الَّذِي تُرِيدُ - خَيْرًا لِي فِي دِينِي، وَمَعِيشَتِي، وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي، وَإِلَّا فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ، ثُمَّ اقْدُرْ لِي الْخَيْرَ أَيْنَمَا كَانَ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
✧ When one of you intends a matter, let him say: 'O Allah, I seek Your guidance by Your knowledge, and I seek Your power by Your might, and I ask You of Your immense bounty. For You have power and I have none, and You know and I do not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if this matter—whatever it is that I intend—is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and my ultimate end, then decree it for me and facilitate it for me and bless me in it. But if it is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood, and my ultimate end, then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and decree for me good wherever it may be, and make me content with it.' There is no might nor power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.

خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا طَوِيلًا فِيهِ: وَمَنْ مَشَى إِلَى مَسْجِدٍ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ فَلَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ يَخْطُوهَا عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ، وَتُمْحَى عَنْهُ عَشْرُ سَيِّئَاتٍ، وَتُرْفَعُ بِهَا عَشْرُ دَرَجَاتٍ
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave us a sermon and mentioned a long hadith, in which he said: 'Whoever walks to any mosque, for every step he takes he gets ten good deeds, ten evil deeds are erased from him, and he is raised by ten degrees.'

مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَيُحْسِنُ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ يَمْشِي إِلَى بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِ اللهِ يُصَلِّي فِيهِ صَلَاةً مَكْتُوبَةً إِلَّا كَتَبَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةِ حَسَنَةً
✧ There is no Muslim who performs ablution and does it well, then walks to one of the houses of Allah to pray an obligatory prayer in it, except that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, writes for him a good deed for every step.

أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ يَمْشِي، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ نُقَارِبُ فِي الْخُطَا، فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا فَعَلْتُ هَذَا لِيَكْثُرَ عَدَدُ خُطَانَا فِي طَلَبِ الصَّلَاةِ
✧ The prayer was established, so the Messenger of God ﷺ went out to the mosque walking, and I was with him, taking short steps. He said: 'I only did this so that the number of our steps in seeking the prayer would increase.'

خَرَجْتُ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ الْمَسْجِدَ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِزَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ؓ، فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى مَنْكِبِي - يَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَيَّ - قَالَ: فَبَقِيتُ أَجُرُّ الْخَطْوَ - لِلشَّبَابِ - فَقَالَ لِي زَيْدٌ ؓ: قَرِّبْ خَطْوَكَ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: مَنْ مَشَى إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ كَانَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ
✧ I went out intending to go to the mosque, and there was Zayd b. Thabit ؓ, so he placed his hand on my shoulder, leaning on me. He said: I kept taking long strides, out of youthfulness, so Zayd ؓ said to me: 'Shorten your stride, for the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Whoever walks to the mosque will have ten good deeds for every step."'
