✧ Bowing, prostration, and the remembrance in them

وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ، قَالَ:

صَلَّى بِنَا الْحَسَنُ ؓ إِحْدَى صَلَاتَيِ الْعَشِيِّ، فَأَطَالَ، فَرَأَيْتُ اضْطِرَابَ لِحْيَتِهِ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ لَهُ: أَكُنْتَ تَقْرَأُ ؟ قَالَ: إِنَّ عَامَّتَهُ تَسْبِيحٌ وَدُعَاءٌ

Translation

✧ Al-Hasan ؓ led us in one of the two evening prayers and lengthened it. I saw his beard quivering. When he finished, I said to him: 'Were you reciting?' He said: 'Most of it was glorification and supplication.'
