✧ Raising the hands

- قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ؓ يَقُولُ:

إِنَّ رَفْعَكُمْ أَيْدِيَكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ لَبِدْعَةٌ، وَاللهِ مَا زَادَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى هَكَذَا: يَعْنِي بِإِصْبَعِهِ

Translation

✧ Your raising of hands in prayer is an innovation. By God, the Messenger of God ﷺ did not do more than this - meaning with his finger.
