✧ Regarding the opening supplication and other matters

إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رِفَاعَةَ بْنَ رَافِعٍ - رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ -: ( كَبَّرَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ، فَقَالَ: « اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كُلُّهُ، وَلَكَ الْمُلْكُ كُلُّهُ، وَإِلَيْكَ يَرْجِعُ الْأَمْرُ كُلُّهُ، أَسْأَلُكَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ كُلِّهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّرِّ كُلِّهِ

Translation

✧ Indeed, he heard Rifa'ah b. Rafi'—a man from the people of Badr—say: "He said takbir in his prayer, and said: 'Allahu akbar, O Allah, to You belongs all praise, and to You belongs all sovereignty, and to You returns the whole affair. I ask You of all good, and I seek refuge in You from all evil.'"
