✧ It was my night with the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he slipped away. I thought he had gone to one of his other wives, so I went out feeling jealous. Then I found him ﷺ prostrating like a garment thrown on the ground. I heard him saying: 'My physical form and my inner self have prostrated to You, and my heart has believed in You. This is my hand and what I have committed against myself. O Great One, from whom every great thing is hoped, forgive the great sin.' Then he ﷺ raised his head and said: 'What brought you out?' I said: 'I had a thought.' He ﷺ said: 'Some thoughts are sinful. Seek forgiveness from God Almighty. Gabriel ﷺ came to me and ordered me to say these words that you heard. Say them in your prostration, for whoever says them will not raise his head before he is forgiven.'
