✧ Prostration of recitation during prayer and otherwise, and the permissibility of bowing at the prostration of recitation

قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْأَسْوَدَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي السُّورَةِ يَكُونُ آخِرَهَا السُّجُودُ، قَالَ: اقْرَأْ وَاسْجُدْ، ثُمَّ قُمْ فَاقْرَأْ وَارْكَعْ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَارْكَعْ فِي الْأَعْرَافِ، وَالنَّجْمِ، وَاقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ، وَأَشْبَاهِهِنَّ

Translation

✧ About a surah whose end contains a prostration, he used to say: 'Recite and prostrate, then stand and recite and bow. If you wish, bow in [the surahs] al-Aʿrāf, al-Najm, Iqraʾ bi-smi Rabbik, and the like of them.'
