✧ The prayer of the excused person

قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ: حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّانُ بْنُ تَمَّامٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ فَلْيَسْجُدْ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَلَا يَرْفَعَنَّ إِلَى وَجْهِهِ شَيْئًا، وَلْيَكُنْ سُجُودُهُ رُكُوعًا، وَلْيَكُنْ رُكُوعُهُ أَنْ يُومِئَ بِرَأْسِهِ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Aḥmad b. Manīʿ
  2. Qurrān b. Tammām
  3. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿĀmir al-Aslamī
  4. Nāfiʿ
  5. Ibn ʿUmar
  6. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ Whoever is able to prostrate, let him prostrate. Whoever is not able, let him not raise anything to his face. Let his prostration be bowing, and let his bowing be to gesture with his head.
