✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man and saw his thigh uncovered, and he said: "Cover your thigh, for a man's thigh is part of his 'awrah." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ looking disheveled. He said: "Do you have wealth?" I said: Yes. He said: "What kind of wealth?" I said: All kinds of wealth, camels, slaves, horses, and sheep. He said: "If Allah gives you wealth, let it be seen upon you." Then he said: "Do your people's camels give birth with sound ears, and you take a blade and cut their ears, saying: This is a Bahirah, and you slit them or slit their skins and say: This is a Sarm, thus making them forbidden for you and your family?" I said: Yes. He said: "What Allah has given you is lawful for you. Allah's blade is sharper, and perhaps he said: Allah's arm is stronger than your arm, and Allah's blade is sharper than your blade." I said: O Messenger of Allah, what about a man whom I visited and he did not honor me or offer me hospitality, then he visited me—should I repay him as he did or offer him hospitality? He said: "Offer him hospitality."

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, I am a man who loves beauty, and I have been given of it what you see, to the extent that I do not like anyone to surpass me even in the strap of my sandal. ✧ Jabir: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his expeditions, and a man went out in two torn garments intending to drive the camels. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'Does he not have any other two garments besides these?' It was said: 'He has two new garments in his bag.' He said: 'Bring me his bag.' So he opened it, and there were two garments in it. He said to the man: 'Take these two and wear them, and throw away the torn ones.' He did so, then drove the camels. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked after him as if amazed at his stinginess toward himself with the two garments, and said to him: 'May Allah strike your neck.' The man turned to him and said: 'In the path of Allah.' He was killed on the day of Yamamah.

One day he passed by us while we were with Abu al-Darda', and he greeted. Abu al-Darda' said: 'A word that benefits us and does not harm you.' al-Mustadrak (al-Hakim) 7419Sahih
«يَا خُرَيْمُ لَوْلَا خَلَّتَانِ فِيكَ كُنْتَ أَنْتَ الرَّجُلَ» فَقَالَ مَا هُمَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «إِسْبَالُكَ إِزَارَكَ وَإِرْخَاؤُكَ شَعْرَكَ»
✧ "O Khurayim, were it not for two traits in you, you would be the man." He said: What are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "Your lowering your lower garment and your letting your hair grow long."

✧ "Extend my sleeve, my son, and make it stick to the tips of my fingers, and cut off what is beyond them." He said: So I cut from the sleeves, and the opening of the sleeves became one part above another, and I said: If only you had evened it with scissors. He said: "Leave it, my son; thus I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do." Ibn Umar said: "The shirt remained on my father until it wore out, and we did not pray until I saw some of the threads falling onto his feet."

✧ I was with Ibn Abbas when a beggar came and asked. Ibn Abbas said to him: Do you testify that there is no god but Allah? He said: Yes. He said: And do you testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah? He said: Yes, and you pray the five? He said: Yes. He said: And you fast Ramadan? He said: Yes. He said: Indeed, you have a right upon us. O boy, clothe him with a garment, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever clothes a Muslim with a garment will not cease to be in Allah's protection as long as a thread or string of it remains on him."

✧ I was with Ali b. Abi Talib when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him to the people of Makkah with Bara'ah. It was said: What were you proclaiming? He said: "We were proclaiming that none will enter Paradise except a believing soul, and no one should circumambulate the House naked, and whoever has a treaty with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, its term and the duration of his treaty is up to four months; when the four months have passed, Allah is free from the polytheists and His Messenger, and no polytheist should perform Hajj after this year." ✧ Abu Talib was working on Zamzam, and the Prophet ﷺ was among those carrying stones, and he was then a young boy. The Prophet ﷺ took his lower garment, stripped, and used it as protection against the stone. Then he fainted. It was said to Abu Talib: Attend to your son, for he has fainted. When the Prophet ﷺ recovered from his fainting, Abu Talib asked him about his fainting. He said: "A visitor came to me wearing white clothes and said to me: Cover yourself." Ibn Abbas said: That was the first thing the Prophet ﷺ saw of prophethood, that he was told to cover himself, and his private parts were never seen from that day.
