✧ He said: One day I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing two garments dyed with yellow safflower. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "What are these two garments?" I said, "Umm 'Abd Allah dyed them for me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I adjure you: go back to Umm 'Abd Allah and order her to light up the oven and then throw them into it." So I went back to her and did that.

The two Shaykhs agreed, regarding the prohibition of a man wearing safflower-dyed clothing (al-muʿaṣfar), on the ḥadīth of ʿAlī, in which he said: the Prophet ﷺ forbade me, and I do not say he forbade you. Authentic (ṣaḥīḥ).
