✧ When the Haruriyyah went out, they gathered in a house, and they were six thousand. I came to Ali and said: 'O Commander of the Believers, delay the prayer so that I may go to these people and speak with them.' He said: 'I fear for you.' He said: 'Not at all.' He said: So I went out to them, and I put on the finest Yemeni robes. Abu Zumayl said: Abdullah b. Abbas was handsome and had a strong voice. Ibn Abbas said: I came to them while they were gathered in a house, taking their midday rest, and I greeted them. They said: 'Welcome, O Ibn Abbas. What is this robe?' I said: 'What do you find wrong with me? I saw on the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the finest of robes,' and I recited: 'Say: Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good things of provision?'

Notes
