✧ From the Prophet ﷺ: 'Whoever recites ten verses in a night, a qintar is recorded for him, and the qintar is better than this world and all it contains. On the Day of Resurrection, your Lord ﷻ will say: "Recite and ascend; for every verse there is a degree," until he reaches the last verse he has with him. Your Lord ﷻ will say to the servant: "Take hold." The servant will say, gesturing with his hand: "My Lord, You know best." He will say: "With this one, eternity; with this one, bliss."'

✧ I heard the caller of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, calling for the congregational prayer. I left with a group of Ansar women until we reached the mosque. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, prayed the Dhuhr prayer with us, then he ascended the pulpit and faced us with a smiling face. Then he said, "By Allah, I did not gather you out of desire or fear except for a story that Tamim ad-Dari told me. He came to me, embraced Islam, and pledged his allegiance. He informed me that he rode with thirty men from Lakhm and Juzam, who were two tribes from the Arab tribes of Yemen. They encountered the sea and were captured by the waves for a month. Then the waves cast them near the sunset to an island from the islands of the sea. There they encountered a creature that resembled neither its face nor its back. We asked, "What are you, O creature?" It spoke to us by the permission of Allah with a swift and fluent tongue, saying, "I am Al-Jassasah." We asked, "And what is Al-Jassasah?" It said, "You should go to that monastery in the farthest part of the island. There is a man who is eagerly awaiting news from you." So we went to the monastery and found the greatest man we had ever seen, with a beautiful physique. His eyes were wiped as if they had kohl on them, and his hands were tied to his neck. His feet were tied with shackles. We said to him, "Who are you, O man?" He replied, "You should know that I am Al-Masih ad-Dajjal (the Anti-Christ). It will soon be announced for me to emerge, and as soon as I exit, I will step on every land of Arabia except Makkah and Madinah. Whenever I intend to approach them, an angel with a drawn sword prevents me from doing so." Abu Al-Ashhab said, "Amir said, Fatimah said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, raising his hands until his armpits were visible. Then he said, 'Shall I not inform you of the mystery of this matter?' He repeated it three times. Then he said, 'Shall I not inform you of its location?' He repeated it three times. Then he said, 'Rather, it is in Yemen.' He repeated it three times. Then he said, 'Rather, it is towards ash-Sham (Syria).' Then he fell unconscious for a while. Then he woke up and said, 'Rather, it is in Iraq. Rather, it is in Iraq. Rather, it is in Iraq.' ✧ I heard my father say when the following verse was revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful" (Quran 57:23), the difficulty intensified for Thabit. He closed the door and started crying. He was informed about the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ, who sent for him and asked him about the hardship he was going through. Thabit explained that he was a man who loved beauty and being from a black-skinned people, he was feeling dejected. The Prophet ﷺ said, "You are not one of them. Instead, you will live well, die well, and Allah will admit you into Paradise." When Allah revealed the verse, "O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech" (Quran 49:2), Thabit started practicing it. He informed the Prophet ﷺ, who sent for him and told him that he had been too loud and that he was concerned his deeds might go to waste. The Prophet ﷺ assured him, "You are not one of them. Instead, you will live well, die well, and Allah will admit you into Paradise." When Abu Bakr mobilized the Muslims against the apostates of Al-Riddah, the Battle of Yamama, and Musaylima the Liar, Thabit bin Qais joined the campaign. They faced Musaylima and the Banu Hanifa three times, and the Muslims were defeated each time. Thabit said, "O Saeed, my servant of Abu Hudhaifa, this is not how we used to fight alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." They dug a trench for themselves and fought until they were both killed. I dreamt of a Muslim man, Thabit bin Qais, who said, "Yesterday, after I was killed, a Muslim man passed by me and took a beautiful shield from me. He has his tent in the furthest part of the camp, and there is a horse tied in front of it, with a saddle placed on the horse's back." Thabit asked Saeed to inform Khalid bin Walid and ask him to collect the shield and inform the Caliph, Abu Bakr, about his debt, his share of the money, and the enslaved person who served him. He advised him not to say it was a dream. Saeed went to Khalid bin Walid and described the shield as Thabit had mentioned. He also went to Abu Bakr and informed him about what was said. After the death of Abu Bakr, his testament became known, and we do not know of anyone whose testament was carried out after their death except Thabit bin Qais bin Shammash.
