✧ Pride was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ, and he spoke sternly about it, saying, “Indeed, Allah does not love any arrogant boaster.” A man among the people said, “By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I wash my clothes and their whiteness pleases me, and the strap of my sandal and the thong of my whip please me.” He said, “That is not pride. Pride is only to reject the truth and to scorn people.”
