حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا غَالِبُ بْنُ حُجْرَةَ حَدَّثَنِي مِلْقَامُ بْنُ التَّلِبِّ أَنَّ التَّلِبَّ حَدَّثَهُ

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اسْتَغْفِرْ لِي فَقَالَ إِذَا أُذِنَ لَكَ أَوْ حَتَّى يُؤْذَنَ لَكَ قَالَ فَغَبَّرَ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ فَمَسَحَ يَدَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ وَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ للِتَلِبٍ وَارْحَمْهُ ثَلَاثًا»

✧ He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, seek forgiveness for me. He said: “When permission is given to you – or until permission is given to you.” He said: So he waited as long as God willed, then he called him and wiped his hand over his face and said: “O God, forgive al-Talib and have mercy on him,” three times.
