حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ يَوْمَ الْيَرْمُوكِ وَقَدْ حَسَرَ عَنْ فَخِذَيْهِ وَقَالَ «§هَكَذَا

عَنْ وُجُوهِنَا نُضَارِبُ الْعَدُوَّ ولَبِئْسَ مَا عَوَّدْتُمْ أَقْرَانَكُمْ وَاللهِ مَا هَكَذَا كُنَّا نُقَاتِلُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»

✧ We fight the enemy facing them, and how evil is what you have accustomed your peers to. By Allah, this is not how we used to fight alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”
