حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْخَشَّابُ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ جَنَّادٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ ثنا عَطَاءُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شَوْذَبٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ عَنْ رَوْحِ بْنِ زِنْبَاعٍ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ وَهُوَ أَمِيرٌ عَلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ وَهُوَ يُنَقِّي لِفَرَسِهِ شَعِيرًا فَقُلْتُ أَيُّهَا الْأَمِيرُ أَمَا كَانَ لَكَ مَنْ يَكْفِيكَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ لَا إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ نَقَّى لِفَرَسِهِ شَعِيرًا ثُمَّ قَامَ بِهِ حَتَّى يُعَلِّقُهُ عَلَيْهِ كَتَبَ اللهُ بِكُلِّ شَعِيرَةٍ حَسَنَةً»

✧ I entered upon Tamim al-Dari while he was governor of Jerusalem and he was cleaning barley for his horse. I said, 'O governor, is there no one to take care of this for you?' He said, 'No, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever cleans barley for his horse and then carries it until he hangs it on the horse, Allah records for every barley grain a good deed."'
