It is related that Abu Musa was with the Prophet ﷺ in one of the gardens of Madina. He said, "The Prophet ﷺ had a twig in his hand with which he was striking the water and mud. A man came and asked for the garden to be opened, and the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Open it for him and give him the good news of the Garden.' I went and it was Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him. I opened the gate for him and gave him the good news of the Garden. Then another man asked to be let in and the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Open the door and give him the good news of the Garden.' It was 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, and I let him in and gave him the good news of the Garden. Then yet another man asked to be let in. The Prophet had been reclining, but he then sat up and said, 'Open it for him and give him the good news of the Garden along with an affliction which will befall him ? or which will happen.' I went and it was 'Uthman, I opened the door and told him what the Prophet had said. He said, 'Allah is the One who is asked for help. '"

✧ My father narrated to me—and he had been in the service of ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr, but al-Ḥajjāj took him away from him—he said: ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr sent me to his mother Asmāʾ bt. Abī Bakr to inform her of how al-Ḥajjāj was treating them, and she would pray for me and stroke my head, and at that time I was a young servant.
A hadith from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ had reached him, so I bought a camel and made it ready for the journey to him. I traveled for a month until I arrived in Syria, where Abdullah b. Unays was. I sent word to him that Jabir was at the door. The messenger returned and asked, “Jabir b. Abdullah?” I replied, “Yes.” He came out and embraced me. I said, “A hadith that I have not heard reached me, and I feared that I might die or that you might die.” He said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, “Allah will gather the servants, or the people, naked, uncircumcised, and empty-handed.” I asked, “What does ‘empty-handed’ mean?” He replied, “They will have nothing with them. He will call to them in a voice heard by those who are far away.” I think he said, “Just as it is heard by those who are near.” “I am the King. No one among the people of Paradise should enter Paradise while someone among the people of the Fire has a claim against him for a wrong, and no one among the people of the Fire should enter the Fire while someone among the people of Paradise has a claim against him for a wrong.” I asked, “How will that be, when we come to Allah naked and empty-handed?” He replied, “By good deeds and bad deeds.”
✧ From ʿĀʾishah, the Mother of the Believers, she said: I have never seen anyone closer in manner of speech and conversation to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than Fāṭimah. When she entered upon him, he would rise to her, welcome her, kiss her, and seat her in his place. When he entered upon her, she would rise to him, take his hand, welcome him, kiss him, and seat him in her place. She entered upon him during his illness in which he died, and he welcomed her and kissed her.

✧ From Ibn ʿUmar, he said: We were on a military expedition, and the people fled in a certain retreat. We said, 'How can we meet the Prophet ﷺ when we have fled?' Then it was revealed: {except one turning aside for battle}. We said, 'We will not approach Madinah, so no one will see us.' Then we said, 'If only we could go.' The Prophet ﷺ came out from the dawn prayer, and we said, 'We are the ones who fled.' He said, 'You are the ones who return to fight.' So we kissed his hand. He said, 'I am your refuge.'

✧ ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Razīn narrated to me, he said: We passed by al-Rabadhah and were told, 'Here is Salamah b. al-Akwaʿ.' So we came to him and greeted him. He brought out his hands and said, 'With these two I pledged allegiance to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ.' Then he brought out a large palm of his, as if it were the paw of a camel. We stood up to it and kissed it.

They said, 'Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.' They added 'and the mercy of Allah.' So everyone who enters Paradise will be in his image. And creation has not ceased decreasing until now.
