The person who greets first
Translation
✧ ʿAbdullāh b. Yūsuf and al-Qaʿnabī narrated to us, they said, Mālik informed us, from Ibn Shihāb, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yazīd, from Abū Ayyūb, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not lawful for a Muslim to shun his brother for more than three [days], such that when they meet, this one turns away and this one turns away. The better of the two is the one who initiates the greeting."
