The person who greets first

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ يُسَلِّمُ الرَّاكِبُ عَلَى الْمَاشِي وَالْمَاشِي عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْمَاشِيَانِ أَيُّهُمَا يَبْدَأُ بِالسَّلامِ فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ
Translation
✧ That he heard Jābir say, "The rider greets the walker, and the walker greets the seated one; and of the two walkers, whichever one initiates the greeting is more excellent."
