Do not greet an openly sinful person

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو رُزَيْقٍ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَكْرَهُ الأَسْبِرَنْجَ وَيَقُولُ لاَ تُسَلِّمُوا عَلَى مَنْ لَعِبَ بِهَا وَهِيَ مِنَ الْمَيْسِرِ
Translation
✧ He heard ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh express dislike for backgammon and say: Do not greet one who plays it, for it is a form of gambling.
