✧ Abu Hurayrah was asked about the fara'ah. He said: 'It is a duty, but it does not mean that you slaughter it while it is a small, weak (animal). Rather, you let it have milk until, when it is the most precious of your property, you slaughter it or carry (loads) on it.'

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was asked about the fara'ah. He said: "The fara'ah is a right, but that you leave it until it becomes a shughrufi, a b. makhad or a b. labun, and then carry [someone] on it in the path of God, or give it to a widow, is better than slaughtering it, when its flesh would stick to its fur, and you would overturn your vessel, and bereave your she-camel."
