عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يَقُولُ:
يُعَقُّ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ، فَإِنْ أَخْطَأَهُمْ، فَأَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ أَنْ يُؤَخِّرُوهُ إِلَى السَّابِعِ الْآخَرِ "، قَالَ: " وَرَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ يَتَحَرَّوْنَ بِالْعَقِّ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ "، قَالَ: " نص إضافييَأْكُلُ أَهْلُ الْعَقِيقَةِ، وَيُهْدُونَهَا، قُلْتُ لَهُ: أَسُنَّةٌ ؟ قَالَ: " قَدْ أَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِذَلِكَ، زَعَمُوا "، قُلْتُ: أَتَصَدَّقُ ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، إِنْ شِئْتَ كُلْ وَأَهْدِ "، قِيلَ: أَمَذْبُوحَتَانِ ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، إِلَّا قَائِمَتَانِ
Translation
✧ The ʿaqīqah is offered for him on his seventh day. If they miss it, I prefer that they postpone it to the next seventh day." He said: "I saw the people eagerly seeking to offer the ʿaqīqah on his seventh day." He said: "The family of the ʿaqīqah eats and gives it as gifts. I said to him: Is it a sunnah? He said: "The Prophet ﷺ commanded that, they claimed." I said: Should I give charity? He said: "No; if you wish, eat and give gifts." It was said: Are two slaughtered? He said: "No, except two standing."
