عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ شُعَيْبٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ:
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَقِيقَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ: " لَا أُحِبُّ الْعُقُوقَ، كَأَنَّهُ كَرِهَ الِاسْمَ " قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ! نَسْأَلُكَ عَنْ أَحَدِنَا يُولَدُ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ أَحَبَّ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَنْسُكَ عَنْ وَلَدِهِ فَلْيَفْعَلْ، عَلَى الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ، وَعَلَى الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ
Translation

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Dāwūd b. Qays, who said: I heard ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb narrating from his father, from his grandfather, who said:
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the ʿaqīqah, and he said: "I do not like ʿuqūq," as if he disliked the name. They said: "O Messenger of Allah, we ask you about one of us to whom a child is born." He said: "Whoever of you wishes to offer a sacrifice on behalf of his child, let him do so: for a boy two similar sheep, and for a girl one sheep."
