عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يَقُولُ:
كَانَ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَذْبَحُونَ فِي الْفَرَعَةِ مِنْ كُلِّ خَمْسِينَ وَاحِدَةً، فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْإِسْلَامُ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ؟ فَقَالَ: إِنْ شِئْتُمْ فَافْعَلُوا، وَلَمْ يُوجِبْ ذَلِكَ
Translation
✧ The people of the Jahiliyyah used to sacrifice one of every fifty (camels) as the fara'ah. When Islam came, the Prophet ﷺ was asked about that. He said: 'If you wish, do it, but he did not make it obligatory.'
