✧ Whoever listens to the conversation of a people while they dislike it, molten lead will be poured into his ear.

  4. Sunan ad-Darimi 2751Accepted

✧ Do not follow one glance with another, for the first is for you and the next is against you.

  5. Sunan ad-Darimi 2752Sahih

✧ I said: O Messenger of Allah, command me with something I may hold fast to. He said: 'Say: My Lord is Allah, then remain upright.' He said: I said: O Prophet of Allah, what do you fear most for me? He said: Then the Prophet of Allah ﷺ took hold of his tongue, then said: 'This.'

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever is silent, he is saved.

  9. Sunan ad-Darimi 2756Hasan

✧ It was said to him: What is backbiting? He said: 'Your mentioning your brother with what he dislikes.' It was said: What if what I say about my brother is true? He said: 'If it is in him, then you have backbitten him, and if it is not in him, then you have slandered him.'

  10. Sunan ad-Darimi 2757Sahih

✧ Indeed, the worst of riding beasts are the riding beasts of falsehood. Neither seriousness nor jest is acceptable in lying, nor should a man promise his son something and then not fulfill it. Verily, truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. Verily, lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. It is said of the truthful one: 'He spoke the truth and acted righteously,' and it is said of the liar: 'He lied and acted wickedly.' A man continues to speak the truth until he is recorded with Allah as a veracious one (ṣiddīq), and he continues to lie until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.

  11. Sunan ad-Darimi 2758Sahih

  12. Sunan ad-Darimi 2759Sahih

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O you people! Indeed Allah is Tayyib (good) and he does not accept but what is good. And indeed Allah ordered the believers with what He ordered the Messengers. He ﷺ said: 'O you Messengers! Eat of the good things and do righteous deeds. Verily I am well acquainted with what you do (23:51).' And He said: 'O you who believe! Eat from the good things We have provided you (2:172).' He said: "And he mentioned a man: 'Who is undertaking a long journey, whose hair is dishevelled and he is covered with dust. He raises his hands to the heavens and says: "O Lord! O Lord!" Yet his food is from the unlawful, his drink is from the unlawful, his clothing is from the unlawful, and he was nourished by the unlawful. So how can that be accepted?'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2989)

  13. Sunan ad-Darimi 2760Sahih

  14. Sunan ad-Darimi 2761Sahih

✧ He mentioned prayer one day and said, "Whoever guards it, it will be for him a light, a proof, and a salvation from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever does not guard it, it will not be for him a light, nor a salvation, nor a proof, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be with Qārūn, Pharaoh, Hāmān, and Ubayy b. Khalaf."

  17. Sunan ad-Darimi 2764Sahih

✧ I had a sharp tongue toward my family, and it did not go beyond them to others. I asked the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "Where are you with regard to seeking forgiveness? Indeed, I seek forgiveness from Allah one hundred times every day."

  19. Sunan ad-Darimi 2766Weak

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, that he recited, "He is the owner of piety and forgiveness" [Al-Muddathir 56]. He said: "Your Lord says: I am the owner of piety, so whoever fears Me, I am worthy to forgive him."

  20. Sunan ad-Darimi 2767No grade recorded

    إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ آيَةً لَوْ أَخَذَ بِهَا النَّاسُ لَكَفَتْهُمْ {فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ فَارِقُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَأَشْهِدُوا ذَوَىْ عَدْلٍ مِنْكُمْ وَأَقِيمُوا الشَّهَادَةَ لِلَّهِ ذَلِكُمْ يُوعَظُ بِهِ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْأخِرِ وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا}

✧ Indeed I know a verse which, if the people were to act upon it, would suffice them: {Then when they have reached their term, either retain them according to what is acceptable or part with them according to what is acceptable. And take as witnesses two just men from among you and establish the testimony for Allah. That is instructed to whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day. And whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out} [al-Ṭalāq: 2].
