✧ «The best of your leaders are those whom you love and they love you, and you pray for them and they pray for you. And the worst of your leaders are those whom you hate and they hate you, and you curse them and they curse you.» We said: O Messenger of Allah, should we not then oppose them? He said: «No, as long as they establish the prayer among you. Indeed, whoever is appointed over him a ruler and sees him committing something of disobedience to Allah, let him hate what he commits of disobedience to Allah, but let him not withdraw his hand from obedience.»

machine translationIbn Jābir said: I said, "By Allah, O Abū al-Miqdām, by Allah, did you hear this from Muslim b. Qaraẓah?" So he faced the qiblah and knelt on his knees, and said: "By Allah, I heard this from Muslim b. Qaraẓah, who said: I heard my uncle ʿAwf b. Mālik say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say it."
