machine translationAl-Zuhrī narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Ḥuṣayn narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Abū Umāmah b. Sahl b. Ḥunayf, but he was not corroborated in it. Ibrāhīm b. Saʿd contradicted him and narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿUbaydullāh, from Abū Hurayrah. Maʿmar, al-Nuʿmān b. Rāshid, Muḥammad b. Abī Ḥafṣah, Ibrāhīm b. Ismāʿīl b. Mujammiʿ and others narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Abū ʿUbayd, the freed slave of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf, from Abū Hurayrah. Ibrāhīm b. Ismāʿīl also narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from al-Aʿraj, from Abū Hurayrah. The best known of these is the narration of al-Zuhrī from Abū ʿUbayd, and in my view it is the most sound (aṣaḥḥ) of them.
