✧ There was a servant among the servants of Allah who did not practice any religion for Allah. He remained until a lifetime had passed and a lifetime remained. He realized that he had not stored up any good with Allah, so he called his sons and said, "What kind of father do you know me to be?" They said, "The best, O our father." He said, "Indeed, I will not leave with any of you any wealth that is mine except that I take it, or you must do what I command you." He said, "He took a covenant from them, by my Lord." He said, "As for me, when I die, take me and burn me with fire until I become charcoal, then crush me, then scatter me in the wind." He said, "They did that to him, by the Lord of Muhammad, when he died. Then he was brought back in the best form he had ever been, and was presented to his Lord. He said, 'What made you do what you did with the fire?' He said, 'Fear of You, O Lord.' He said, 'I hear that you were indeed fearful.' He said, 'He was forgiven.'"
