✧ He was compelled to eat, so he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The people who are fullest in this world will be the longest hungry in the Hereafter. O Sulayman, the world is the believer's prison and the disbeliever's paradise."

✧ "Go, O Salman, and when you finish, let me know and I will be with you; I will plant them with my own hand." So I prepared the holes for them, and my companions helped me until when I finished, I came to him and told him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out with me to them, and we brought the young palm shoots near to him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ planted them with his own hand until we finished. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Salman, not a single palm tree among them died. I paid off the palms, and the money remained due. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought something like a chicken's egg of gold from some mines. He said: "What has the Persian slave who has a contract of manumission done?" I was called to him, and he said: "Take this and pay what you owe with it, O Salman." I said: Where will this fall, O Messenger of Allah, against what I owe? He said: "Take it, for Allah will pay on your behalf with it." I weighed for him from it, and by the One in whose hand is the soul of Salman, forty uqiyyahs, and I paid them their due. Salman became free, and I witnessed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the Battle of the Trench; then no expedition with him ever missed me.
