حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مِنْدَلٌ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
مَا تَعُدُّونَ الشَّهِيدَ فِيكُمْ ؟ قَالُوا: الْقَتْلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ قَالَ: " إِنَّ شُهَدَاءَ أُمَّتِي إِذًا لَقَلِيلٌ: الْقَتْلُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ، وَالْحَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ - وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: وَالْمَرْأَةُ يَقْتُلُهَا وَلَدُهَا فِي بَطْنِهَا شَهَادَةٌ

✧ What do you consider a martyr among you? They said: Being killed in the path of Allah. He said: 'Then the martyrs of my community are few. Being killed is martyrdom, drowning is martyrdom, burning is martyrdom—and I think he said—and a woman whom her child kills in her womb is martyrdom.'
