✧ I saw the Prophet ﷺ, and al-Hasan b. 'Ali resembled him. He said: And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed among us twelve camels, and my father received a camel, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away before giving it to us. So we went to Abu Bakr, and he gave it to us.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out in the midday heat and prayed Zuhr as two rak'ahs and 'Asr as two rak'ahs, with a short spear planted in front of him.

دَهَمَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَاسٌ مِنْ قَيْسٍ مُجْتَابِي النِّمَارِ، مُتَقَلِّدِينَ السُّيُوفَ، فَسَاءَهُ مَا رَأَى مِنْ هَيْئَتِهِمْ فَصَلَّى، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى وَجَلَسَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ، فَأَمَرَ بِالصَّدَقَةِ أَوْ حَضَّ عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ: " تَصَدَّقَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ دِينَارِهِ، تَصَدَّقَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ دِرْهَمِهِ، تَصَدَّقَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ صَاعِ بُرِّهِ، تَصَدَّقَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ صَاعِ تَمْرِهِ " فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ بِصُرَّةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَوَضَعَهَا فِي يَدِهِ، ثُمَّ تَتَابَعَ النَّاسُ حَتَّى رَأَى كَوْمَيْنِ مِنْ ثِيَابٍ وَطَعَامٍ، فَرَأَيْتُ وَجْهَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَهَلَّلُ كَأَنَّهُ مُذْهَبَةٌ، ثُمَّ قَالَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ: " مَنْ سَنَّ سُنَّةً حَسَنَةً عُمِلَ بِهَا بَعْدَهُ كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُهَا وَمِثْلُ أُجُورِهِمْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْتَقِصَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْئًا، وَمَنْ سَنَّ سُنَّةً سَيِّئَةً عُمِلَ بِهَا بَعْدَهُ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ وِزْرُهَا وَمِثْلُ أَوْزَارِهِمْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْتَقِصَ مِنْ أَوْزَارِهِمْ شَيْئًا
✧ Some people from Qays, wearing cloaks with torn edges and carrying swords, came unexpectedly to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Their appearance displeased him, so he prayed, then entered his house, then came out, prayed, and sat in his gathering. He commanded or urged charity, saying: 'Let a man give charity from his dinar, let a man give charity from his dirham, let a man give charity from a sa' of his wheat, let a man give charity from a sa' of his dates.' A man from the Ansar came with a purse of gold and placed it in his hand. Then the people followed suit until I saw two heaps of clothes and food. I saw the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ shining as if it were gilded. Then he said: 'Whoever initiates a good practice that is acted upon after him will have its reward and the like of their rewards, without diminishing their rewards in the least. And whoever initiates an evil practice that is acted upon after him will bear its burden and the like of their burdens, without diminishing their burdens in the least.'

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was at al-Abtah in a red leather tent. Bilal came out to us with the leftover water of his ablution, so we rushed to him and took from his ablution water, or from the leftover of his ablution water. Then Bilal made the call to prayer, and he began turning his mouth here and there, right and left.

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ at al-Abtah, and I prayed with him the noon and afternoon prayers, two rak'ahs each. Bilal made the call to prayer and placed his fingers in his ears, and he would turn around during his call.

✧ The Prophet ﷺ prayed with them at al-Batha' with a short spear in front of him: the noon prayer two rak'ahs and the afternoon prayer two rak'ahs, while women and donkeys passed in front of him.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at al-Abtah when Bilal came to him and informed him of the prayer. He called for ablution water and performed ablution. The people began taking the ablution water of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and wiping themselves with it. He said: Then Bilal took the short spear and walked with it with him, and he made the call to commence the prayer. أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي قُبَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ مِنْ أَدَمٍ، قَالَ: وَرَأَيْتُ بِلَالًا أَخْرَجَ وَضُوءَهُ، فَرَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ يَبْتَدِرُونَ وَضُوءَهُ، فَمَنْ أَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ وَإِلَّا أَخَذَ مِنْ كَفِّ صَاحِبِهِ، ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَ عَنَزَةً فَرَكَزَهَا، ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِهِمْ، تَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الدَّوَابُّ وَالنَّاسُ
✧ He saw the Prophet ﷺ in a red leather tent. He said: And I saw Bilal bring out his ablution water, and I saw the people rushing to get his ablution water. Whoever got some of it wiped his face with it, and whoever did not get any took from the palm of his companion. Then he brought out a short spear and planted it, then he prayed with them, while animals and people passed in front of him.

آخَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ سَلْمَانَ وَأَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، فَجَاءَ سَلْمَانُ يَزُورُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ، فَرَأَى أُمَّ الدَّرْدَاءِ مُتَبَذِّلَةً، فَقَالَ: مَا شَأْنُكِ ؟ فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّ أَخَاكَ لَيْسَ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ رَحَّبَ بِسَلْمَانَ، وَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ الطَّعَامَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ سَلْمَانُ: اطْعَمْ، قَالَ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، قَالَ: أَقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ لَمَا طَعِمْتَ فَمَا أَنَا بِآكِلٍ حَتَّى تَأْكُلَ، قَالَ: فَأَكَلَ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ: يَا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ إِنَّ لِجَسَدِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا، وَإِنَّ لِأَهْلِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا. أَعْطِ كُلَّ ذِي حَقٍّ حَقَّهُ، صُمْ وَأَفْطِرْ، وَقُمْ وَنَمْ، وَائْتِ أَهْلَكَ، وَأَعْطِ كُلَّ ذِي حَقٍّ حَقَّهُ، ثُمَّ بَاتَ عِنْدَهُ سَلْمَانُ حَتَّى كَانَ فِي بَعْضِ اللَّيْلِ قَامَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ، فَحَبَسَهُ سَلْمَانُ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ عِنْدَ الصُّبْحِ، قَالَ: قُمِ الْآنَ، قَالَ: فَقَامَا فَصَلَّيَا، ثُمَّ خَرَجَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَامَ إِلَيْهِ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِمَا قَالَ لَهُ سَلْمَانُ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ لَهُ سَلْمَانُ
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ established brotherhood between Salman and Abu al-Darda'. Salman came to visit Abu al-Darda' and saw Umm al-Darda' in a shabby state. He said, "What is the matter with you?" She said, "Your brother has no need for anything from women." When Abu al-Darda' came, he welcomed Salman and brought food close to him. Salman said to him, 'Eat.' He said, 'I am fasting.' Salman said, 'I adjure you to eat, for I will not eat until you eat.' So he ate with him. Then he said to him, 'O Abu al-Darda', your body has a right over you, and your family has a right over you. Give every rightful person his due. Fast and break your fast, stand in prayer and sleep, and come to your family, and give every rightful person his due.' Then Salman stayed overnight with him until part of the night had passed, Abu al-Darda' got up, but Salman held him back. When it was near dawn, he said, 'Get up now.' So they both got up and prayed, then they went out to the prayer. When the Prophet ﷺ had prayed, Abu al-Darda' went to him and told him what Salman had said to him. He said: He told him the same as what Salman had told him.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ، فَسَمِعَ مُؤَذِّنً يَقُولُ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: خَلَعَ الْأَنْدَادَ، فَقَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ، فَقَالَ: " خَرَجَ مِنَ النَّارِ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ -: " تَجِدُونَهُ صَاحِبَ مِعْزًى مُعْزَبَةٍ أَوْ صَاحِبَ كِلَابٍ
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on one of his journeys when he heard a muezzin saying, 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'He has cast off rivals.' Then the muezzin said, 'I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'He has come out of the Fire.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'You will find him to be a herder of goats kept far from dwellings, or a keeper of dogs.'

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَنَامُوا فِيهِ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّكُمْ أَمْوَاتًا فَرَدَّ اللهُ إِلَيْكُمْ أَرْوَاحَكُمْ، فَمَنْ نَامَ عَنْ صَلَاةٍ فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ، وَمَنْ نَسِيَ فَلْيُصَلِّ إِذَا ذَكَرَ
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on a journey, and they slept through until the sun had risen. He said: 'You were dead, and Allah returned your souls to you. Whoever sleeps through a prayer, let him pray it when he wakes up, and whoever forgets, let him pray when he remembers.'

" إِنَّهَا سَتُفْتَحُ عَلَيْكُمُ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى تُنَجِّدُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ كَمَا تُنَجَّدُ الْكَعْبَةُ قُلْنَا: وَنَحْنُ عَلَى دِينِنَا الْيَوْمَ، قَالَ: " وَأَنْتُمْ عَلَى دِينِكُمُ الْيَوْمَ ". قُلْنَا: فَنَحْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَيْرٌ أَمِ الْيَوْمَ ؟ قَالَ: " بَلْ أَنْتُمُ الْيَوْمَ خَيْرٌ
✧ "Indeed the world will be opened up to you until you decorate your houses as the Kaaba is decorated." We said, "While we are upon our religion today?" He said, "And you are upon your religion today." We said, "Will we be better then or today?" He said, "Rather, you are better today."

أَنَّهُ اشْتَرَى غُلَامًا حَجَّامًا فَأَمَرَ بِمَحَاجِمِهِ فَكُسِرَتْ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَتَكْسِرُهَا ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الدَّمِ، وَثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ، وَكَسْبِ الْبَغِيِّ، وَلَعَنَ آكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلَهُ، وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ، وَلَعَنَ الْمُصَوِّرَ
✧ He bought a slave who was a cupper, and he ordered his cupping instruments to be broken. I said to him, 'Will you break them?' He said, 'Yes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the price of blood, the price of a dog, and the earnings of a prostitute. And he cursed the one who consumes interest and the one who pays it, the woman who tattoos and the one who asks for tattooing, and he cursed the image-maker.'

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ وَعُمَرُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَا يَزَالُ أَمْرُ أُمَّتِي قَائِمًا حَتَّى يَمْضِيَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ - قَالَ: فَخَفَضَ بِهِ صَوْتَهُ - قَالَ: فَنَكَثَ أَبِي بَيْنِ كَتِفَيْ عَمِّي، فَقَالَ: يَا عَمِّ مَا قَالَ ؟ قَالَ: " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ
✧ I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was delivering a sermon, and Umar was in front of him in the gathering. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The affair of my nation will remain established until twelve caliphs pass, all of them from Quraysh.' He said: He lowered his voice. My father poked between the shoulders of my uncle and said, 'O uncle, what did he say?' He said, 'All of them from Quraysh.'

كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذُكِرَ الْجُدُودُ، فَقِيلَ: جَدُّ بَنِي فُلَانٍ فِي الْإِبِلِ، وَجَدُّ بَنِي فُلَانٍ أَوْ جَدُّ فُلَانٍ فِي الْغَنَمِ، فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى إِذَا صَلَّى وَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ، قَالَ: " اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ
✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when 'judud' (good fortunes) were mentioned. It was said: 'The fortune of Banu so-and-so is in camels, and the fortune of Banu so-and-so—or the fortune of so-and-so—is in sheep.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent until he prayed and raised his head from bowing, then he said: 'O Allah, there is no withholder for what You give, and no giver for what You withhold, and no fortune of a fortunate person avails him against You.'

أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ جَارَهُ، فَقَالَ: " يُؤْذِينِي، فَقَالَ: ضَعْ مَتَاعَكَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ أَوْ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الطَّرِيقِ. فَوَضَعَهُ فَكَانَ، فَكَانَ كُلُّ مَنْ مَرَّ، قَالَ: مَا شَأْنُكَ ؟ قَالَ: جَارِي يُؤْذِينِي ; فَيَدْعُو عَلَيْهِ، فَجَاءَ الرَّجُلُ، فَقَالَ: رُدَّ مَتَاعَكَ فَلَا أُؤْذِيكَ أَبَدًا، أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ
✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and complained to him about his neighbor. He said: 'He harms me.' He said: 'Place your belongings on the road, or on the side of the road.' So he placed them, and every passerby would say: 'What is the matter with you?' He would say: 'My neighbor harms me,' and they would curse him. Then the man came and said: 'Take back your belongings, for I will never harm you again,' or something like that.

أَكَلْتُ ثَرِيدًا، وَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَتَجَشَّأْتُ عِنْدَهُ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ، إِنَّ أَطْوَلَ النَّاسِ جُوعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ شِبَعًا فِي الدُّنْيَا
✧ I ate tharid (a dish of bread and meat), then I came to the Prophet ﷺ and belched in his presence. He said: 'O Abu Juḥayfah, the people with the longest hunger on the Day of Resurrection will be those who were most satiated in this world.'

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a collector among us with his command to take charity from our rich and distribute it among our poor.
