حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، وَزِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَا: نَا سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ أَبُو عَتَّابٍ، قَالَ: نَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ قَالَ:
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ وَعُمَرُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَا يَزَالُ أَمْرُ أُمَّتِي قَائِمًا حَتَّى يَمْضِيَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ خَلِيفَةً كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ - قَالَ: فَخَفَضَ بِهِ صَوْتَهُ - قَالَ: فَنَكَثَ أَبِي بَيْنِ كَتِفَيْ عَمِّي، فَقَالَ: يَا عَمِّ مَا قَالَ ؟ قَالَ: " كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ

✧ I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was delivering a sermon, and Umar was in front of him in the gathering. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The affair of my nation will remain established until twelve caliphs pass, all of them from Quraysh.' He said: He lowered his voice. My father poked between the shoulders of my uncle and said, 'O uncle, what did he say?' He said, 'All of them from Quraysh.'
