He said, 'I am not asking you about that. I am asking you about the tribulation before the Hour, which surges like the waves of the sea.' He said, 'O Commander of the Faithful, between you and it is a closed door.' Umar said, 'Tell me about the door: will it be broken or opened?' He said, 'Rather, it will be broken.' Umar said, 'Then it will never be closed until the Day of Resurrection.' Abu Wa'il said: We said to Masruq, 'Ask Hudhayfah who the door is.' He asked him, and he said, 'The door is Umar.'

✧ The Prophet ﷺ was brought al-Buraq, a white riding beast, larger than a donkey and smaller than a mule. He and Gabriel did not leave its back until they brought him to Jerusalem, then Gabriel ascended with him to heaven. Gabriel asked for the gate to be opened, and he showed him Paradise and Hellfire. Then he said to me: Did he pray in Jerusalem? I said: Yes. He said: What is your name, bald one? I recognize your face but I do not know your name. I said: I am Zirr b. Hubaysh. He said: Where do you find that he prayed? I recited the verse 'Glory be to Him who made His servant travel by night' to the end. He said: Had he prayed, you would have prayed there as you pray in the Sacred Mosque. I said to Hudhayfah: Did he tie the beast to the ring to which the prophets used to tie it? He said: Would he fear that it might run away from him when God had brought it to him?

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ narrated two hadiths to us. I have seen one of them and I am waiting for the other. He narrated to us: "Trustworthiness descended in the roots of men's hearts, and they learned from the Qur'an and learned from the Sunnah." Then he narrated to us about its removal. He said: "A man among you sleeps a sleep, and a black dot is made in his heart, and its trace remains in his interior like a blister, like an ember you rolled on your foot and it blistered. You see it raised, with nothing in it. People wake up with no trustworthy one among them. Indeed a time passed over me when I did not care which of you I did business with: if he was a Muslim, his Islam would return it to me; if he was a Jew or a Christian, his official would return it to me. But now I have reached the point that I do not do business with any of you except so-and-so and so-and-so. And there will come upon the people a time when it will be said of a man: 'How witty he is, how intelligent he is,' while there is not in his heart faith equal to the weight of a barley grain."
