✧ He prayed with the Prophet ﷺ—Abu Dawud said: meaning the night prayer. When he said the takbir, he said: God is the greatest, possessor of dominion, might, pride, and greatness. Then he recited al-Baqarah. Then he bowed, and his bowing was like his standing. In his bowing he kept saying: 'Glory be to my Lord, the Mighty, glory be to my Lord, the Mighty.' Then he raised his head from bowing and stood like his bowing, and he said: 'Praise belongs to my Lord.' Then he prostrated, and his prostration was like his standing. In his prostration he would say: 'Glory be to my Lord, the Most High.' Then he raised his head from prostration, and between the two prostrations he would say: 'Lord, forgive me; Lord, forgive me,' and he sat for as long as his prostration. Hudhayfah said: He prayed four rak'ahs, reciting in them al-Baqarah, Al Imran, al-Nisa, and al-Ma'idah or al-An'am.
