So she stopped and brought out two garments she had with her. She said, 'These are two garments I brought for my brother Hamza, for I have heard of his killing, so shroud him in them.' He said: 'We came to Hamza to shroud him in them, and there beside him was a man of the Ansar who had been done to as was done to Hamza. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ felt unease to shroud Hamza in two garments while the Ansari had no shroud. So we said, "For Hamza one garment and for the Ansari one garment."
✧ We gathered around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Madinah on the day of Uhud. There did not remain anyone of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah—meaning in Madinah—until there were many slain among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. A crier cried out, "Muhammad has been killed," and women wept. A woman said, "Do not hasten to weep until I look." So she went out walking, with no concern other than for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asking about him.
