حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُسْتَمِرِّ الْعُرُوقِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلِيمِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي حَيَّانَ بْنِ بِسْطَامٍ قَالَ:

كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، فَمَرَّ بِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَهُوَ مَصْلُوبٌ فَقَالَ: رَحِمَكَ اللهُ أَبَا خُبَيْبٍ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَاكَ يَعْنِي الزُّبَيْرَ بْنَ الْعَوَّامِ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا يُجْزَ بِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ

Translation

✧ I was with Ibn 'Umar, and he passed by 'Abd Allah b. al-Zubayr while he was crucified, and he said: May Allah have mercy on you, Abu Khubayb. I heard your father, meaning al-Zubayr b. al-'Awwam, say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever does an evil deed will be requited for it in this world and the Hereafter.
