Sunan ad-Darimi 1988Sahih
«ضَحَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ وَيُسَمِّي وَيُكَبِّرُ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ يَذْبَحُهُمَا بِيَدِهِ وَاضِعًا عَلَى صِفَاحِهِمَا قَدَمَهُ» قُلْتُ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ
✧ 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed two salt-and-white horned rams. He pronounced the name of Allah and said the takbir. I saw him slaughter them with his own hand, placing his foot on their sides.' I said, 'Did you hear it yourself?' He said, 'Yes.'

ضَحَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِكَبْشَيْنِ فِي يَوْمِ الْعِيدِ فَقَالَ حِينَ وَجَّهَهُمَا «إِنِّي وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا مِنْكَ وَلَكَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأُمَّتِهِ» ثُمَّ سَمَّى اللَّهَ وَكَبَّرَ وَذَبَحَ
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed two rams on the day of Eid. When he turned them [for slaughter], he said: “Indeed, I have turned my face toward the One who created the heavens and the earth, inclining to truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah. Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims. O Allah, indeed this is from You and for You, on behalf of Muhammad and his Ummah.” Then he pronounced the name of Allah, said Allahu Akbar, and slaughtered.
Sunan ad-Darimi 1990Sahih
«مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُضَحِّيَ فَلَا يُقَلِّمْ أَظْفَارَهُ وَلَا يَحْلِقْ شَيْئًا مِنْ شَعْرِهِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأُوَلِ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ»
"Ibn Al-Musayyab told me that Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet told him that the Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever wants to offer a sacrifice, let him not remove anything from his nails or cut his hair for the first ten days Dhul-Jijjah."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4362)
Sunan ad-Darimi 1991Sahih
«إِذَا دَخَلَتِ الْعَشْرُ وَأَرَادَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يُضَحِّيَ فَلَا يَمَسَّ مِنْ شَعْرِهِ وَلَا أَظْفَارِهِ شَيْئًا»
“When the ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah) begin, and one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, let him not remove anything from his hair or skin.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3149)
Sunan ad-Darimi 1992Sahih
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا يُتَّقَى مِنَ الضَّحَايَا؟ قَالَ «الْعَوْرَاءُ الْبَيِّنُ عَوَرُهَا وَالْعَرْجَاءُ الْبَيِّنُ ظَلْعُهَا وَالْمَرِيضَةُ الْبَيِّنُ مَرَضُهَا وَالْعَجْفَاءُ الَّتِي لَا تُنْقِي»
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked what should be avoided in sacrificial animals. He said: “The one-eyed whose defect is obvious, the lame whose lameness is obvious, the sick whose sickness is obvious, and the emaciated one that has no marrow.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 1993Sahih
سَأَلْتُ الْبَرَاءَ عَمَّا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْأَضَاحِيِّ فَقَالَ أَرْبَعٌ لَا يُجْزِئْنَ الْعَوْرَاءُ الْبَيِّنُ عَوَرُهَا وَالْعَرْجَاءُ الْبَيِّنُ ظَلْعُهَا وَالْمَرِيضَةُ الْبَيِّنُ مَرَضُهَا وَالْكَسِيرُ الَّتِي لَا تُنْقِي
✧ I asked al-Bara' about what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited among sacrificial animals. He said: “Four are not sufficient: the one-eyed whose defect is obvious, the lame whose lameness is obvious, the sick whose sickness is obvious, and the broken [or emaciated] one that has no marrow.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 1994Hasan
«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ»
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to examine the eyes and ears.
Sunan ad-Darimi 1995No grade recorded
«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ وَأَنْ لَا نُضَحِّيَ بِمُقَابَلَةٍ وَلَا مُدَابَرَةٍ وَلَا خَرْقَاءَ وَلَا شَرْقَاءَ»
✧ "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to trim the eye and ear, and not to shave, trim, or pierce." So, "trimming" refers to cutting the edge of the ear, "shaving" refers to cutting from the side of the ear, "pierced" refers to a perforated (eared?) one, and "split" refers to a split one.

قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ضَحَايَا بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ فَأَصَابَنِي جَذَعٌ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا صَارَتْ لِي جَذَعَةٌ فَقَالَ «ضَحِّ بِهَا»
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed sacrificial animals among his Companions. A jadha' (young sheep) fell to my share. I said, “O Messenger of Allah, a jadha'a has fallen to me.” He said, “Sacrifice it.”

أَعْطَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ غَنَمًا أَقْسِمُهَا عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَسَمْتُهَا وَبَقِيَ مِنْهَا عَتُودٌ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «ضَحِّ بِهِ»
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me some sheep to distribute among his Companions. I distributed them, and an 'atud (young goat) remained. I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, “Sacrifice it.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 1998Sahih
نَحَرْنَا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ سَبْعِينَ بَدَنَةً الْبَدَنَةُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اشْتَرِكُوا فِي الْهَدْيِ»
✧ On the day of Hudaybiyyah, we slaughtered seventy badanahs (camels), each badanah on behalf of seven. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Share in the sacrificial animal.”

«نَحَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ»
✧ We slaughtered with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a cow on behalf of seven.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2000Sahih
نَهَى عَنْ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ أَوْ قَالَ «لَا تَأْكُلُوا لُحُومَ الْأَضَاحِيِّ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ»
✧ He prohibited the meat of sacrificial animals, or he said: “Do not eat the meat of sacrificial animals after three [days].”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2001Sahih
«إِنَّا كُنَّا نَهَيْنَاكُمْ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ أَنْ تَأْكُلُوهَا فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ كَيْ تَسَعَكُمْ فَقَدْ جَاءَ اللَّهُ بِالسَّعَةِ فَكُلُوا وَادَّخِرُوا وَائْتَّجِرُوا»
✧ We had forbidden you to eat the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days so that it might suffice you. Now Allah has brought abundance, so eat, store, and seek reward.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2002Sahih
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْعَامُ الْقَابِلُ وَضَحَّى النَّاسُ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ كَانَتْ هَذِهِ الْأَضَاحِيُّ لَتَرْفُقُ بِالنَّاسِ كَانُوا يَدَّخِرُونَ مِنْ لُحُومِهَا وَوَدَكِهَا؟ قَالَ «فَمَا يَمْنَعُهُمْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ؟» قُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَوَ لَمْ تَنْهَهُمْ عَامَ أَوَّلَ عَنْ أَنْ يَأْكُلُوا لُحُومَهَا فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ؟ فَقَالَ «إِنَّمَا نَهَيْتُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ لِلْحَاضِرَةِ الَّتِي حَضَرَتْهُمْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ لِيَنُثُّوا لُحُومَهَا فِيهِمْ فَأَمَّا الْآنَ فَلْيَأْكُلُوا وَلْيَدَّخِرُوا»
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had prohibited the meat of sacrificial animals after three days. The following year, when the people sacrificed, I said, “O Messenger of Allah, these sacrificial animals used to benefit the people; they used to store their meat and fat?” He said, “What prevents them from that today?” I said, “O Prophet of Allah, did you not forbid them last year from eating their meat beyond three days?” He said, “I only forbade that because of the needy people who had come to them from the desert, so that they would distribute the meat among them. Now let them eat and store.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2003Sahih
قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ بِمِنًى «أَصْلِحْ لَنَا مِنْ هَذَا اللَّحْمِ» فَأَصْلَحْتُ لَهُ مِنْهُ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى بَلَغْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me while we were at Mina, “Prepare for us some of this meat.” I prepared some for him, and he kept eating from it until we reached Madinah.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2004Sahih
«إِنْ كُنَّا لَنَتَزَوَّدُ مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»
✧ We used to take provision from Makkah to Madinah at the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2005Sahih
أَنَّ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ بْنَ نِيَارٍ ضَحَّى قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فَلَمَّا صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ دَعَاهُ فَذَكَرَ لَهُ مَا فَعَلَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّمَا شَاتُكَ شَاةُ لَحْمٍ» فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عِنْدِي عَنَاقٌ جَذَعَةٌ مِنَ الْمَعْزِ هِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ شَاتَيْنِ قَالَ «فَضَحِّ بِهَا وَلَا تُجْزِئُ عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ»
✧ Abu Burdah b. Niyar sacrificed before he prayed, and when the Prophet ﷺ had prayed he called him and he mentioned to him what he had done, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Your sheep is only a sheep for meat." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a jadh'ah goat kid that is dearer to me than two sheep." He said, "Then sacrifice it, but it will not suffice for anyone after you."
Sunan ad-Darimi 2006Sahih
أَنَّ رَجُلًا ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُعِيدَ»
✧ That the Prophet ﷺ should leave and he ordered him to return.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2007Sahih
«لَا فَرَعَ وَلَا عَتِيرَةَ»
✧ There is no fara'a and no 'atirah.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2008Accepted
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَذْبَحُ فِي رَجَبٍ فَمَا تَرَى؟ قَالَ «لَا بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ»
✧ I said, "O Messenger of Allah, we used to sacrifice during the month of Rajab. What do you think?" He said, "There is no problem with that." Waki said, "I will never leave it."
Sunan ad-Darimi 2009Accepted
قَالَ فِي الْعَقِيقَةِ «عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافِئَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ»
✧ He said concerning the 'aqiqah, "For a boy two sheep of equal age, and for a girl one sheep."
Sunan ad-Darimi 2010Sahih
«مَعَ الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَةٌ فَأَهْرِيقُوا عَنْهُ دَمًا وَأَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الْأَذَى»
✧ With the boy is an 'aqiqah, so pour blood on his behalf and remove harm from him.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2011Sahih
«عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مِثْلَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ»
✧ For a boy two similar sheep, and for a girl one sheep.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2012Sahih
«كُلُّ غُلَامٍ رَهِينَةٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ يُذْبَحُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ وَيُحْلَقُ وَيُدَمَّى»
✧ Every boy is held in pledge by his 'aqiqah; it is slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day, and his head is shaved and smeared with blood.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2013Sahih
حَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ اثْنَتَيْنِ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْإِحْسَانَ فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ ثُمَّ لِيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ»
✧ I memorized two things from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "Allah has prescribed excellence in everything. When you kill, kill well, and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade and give rest to his animal."
Sunan ad-Darimi 2014Sahih
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تَرْعَى لِآلِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ غَنَمًا بِسَلْعٍ فَخَافَتْ عَلَى شَاةٍ مِنْهَا أَنْ تَمُوتَ فَأَخَذَتْ حَجَرًا فَذَبَحَتْهَا بِهِ وَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ ذُكِرَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِأَكْلِهَا»
✧ A woman used to tend sheep for the family of Ka'b b. Malik at Sal'. She feared that one of the sheep would die, so she took a stone and slaughtered it with it. That was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he commanded them to eat it.
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمَا تَكُونُ الذَّكَاةُ إِلَّا فِي الْحَلْقِ وَاللَّبَّةِ؟ فَقَالَ «لَوْ طَعَنْتَ فِي فَخِذِهَا لَأَجْزَأَ عَنْكَ»
✧ I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is slaughtering only in the throat and the upper chest?" He said, "If you had stabbed it in its thigh, it would have sufficed you."
Sunan ad-Darimi 2016Sahih
خَرَجْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي طَرِيقٍ مِنْ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَإِذَا بغِلْمَةٌ يَرْمُونَ دَجَاجَةً فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ مَنْ فَعَلَ هَذَا؟ فَتَفَرَّقُوا فَقَالَ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَعَنَ مَنْ مَثَّلَ بِالْحَيَوَانِ»
✧ I went out with Ibn 'Umar on one of the roads of Madinah, and there were some boys throwing stones at a chicken. Ibn 'Umar said, "Who did this?" They scattered. He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed whoever mutilates animals."
Sunan ad-Darimi 2017Accepted
نَهَى عَنْ صَبْرِ الدَّابَّةِ»
✧ He forbade confining an animal to be shot.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2018Sahih
نَهَى عَنِ الْمُجَثَّمَةِ» قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد «الْمُجَثَّمَةُ الْمَصْبُورَةُ»
✧ He prohibited al-mujaththamah.” Abu Muhammad said: “Al-mujaththamah is the animal that is tied up and shot (at).”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2019Sahih
أَنَّ قَوْمًا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ قَوْمًا يَأْتُونَا بِاللَّحْمِ لَا نَدْرِي أَذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ أَمْ لَا؟ فَقَالَ «سَمُّوا أَنْتُمْ وَكُلُوا» وَكَانُوا حَدِيثَ عَهْدٍ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ
✧ Some people said, “O Messenger of Allah, some people bring us meat and we do not know whether the name of Allah has been mentioned over it or not.” He said, “Say the name of Allah yourselves and eat.” They had only recently left the days of ignorance.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2020Sahih
أَنَّ بَعِيرًا نَدَّ وَلَيْسَ فِي الْقَوْمِ إِلَّا خَيْلٌ يَسِيرَةٌ فَرَمَاهُ رَجُلٌ بِسَهْمٍ فَحَبَسَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ لِهَذِهِ الْبَهَائِمِ أَوَابِدَ كَأَوَابِدِ الْوَحْشِ فَمَا غَلَبَكُمْ مِنْهَا فَاصْنَعُوا بِهِ هَكَذَا»
✧ A camel bolted, and the people had only a few horses, so a man shot it with an arrow and stopped it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, “These beasts have wild impulses like those of wild animals. Whatever of them overpowers you, deal with it in this way.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2021Accepted
«مَنْ قَتَلَ عُصْفُورًا بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهِ سَأَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» قِيلَ وَمَا حَقُّهُ؟ قَالَ «أَنْ تَذْبَحَهُ فَتَأْكُلَهُ»
✧ “Whoever kills a sparrow without right, Allah will ask him about it on the Day of Resurrection.” It was said, “What is its right?” He said, “That you slaughter it and eat it.”

«ذَكَاةُ الْجَنِينِ ذَكَاةُ أُمِّهِ»
✧ “The slaughter of the fetus is the slaughter of its mother.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2023Accepted
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَكْلِ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السَّبُعِ»
✧ “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited eating every beast of prey that has fangs.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2024Hasan
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَطْفَةِ وَالْمُجَثَّمَةِ وَالنُّهْبَةِ وَعَنْ أَكْلِ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ»
✧ “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the snatched morsel, the tied-up animal, the stolen property, and eating every beast of prey that has fangs.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2025Sahih
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَكْلِ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ وَكُلِّ ذِي مِخْلَبٍ مِنَ الطَّيْرِ»
✧ “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited eating every beast of prey that has fangs and every bird that has talons.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2026Sahih
نَهَى عَنْ جُلُودِ السِّبَاعِ أَنْ تُفْتَرَشَ»
✧ “He prohibited using the skins of beasts of prey as floor coverings.”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2027Sahih
أَخْبَرَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ نَحْوَهُ
✧ Musaddad informed us: Yahya b. Sa'id narrated to us from Qatadah, from Abu al-Malih, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ something similar.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2028Sahih
سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الْأَسْقِيَةِ فَقَالَ مَا أَدْرِي مَا أَقُولُ لَكَ غَيْرَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَيُّمَا إِهَابٍ دُبِغَ فَقَدْ طَهُرَ»
✧ I asked Ibn 'Abbas about water skins, and he said, “I do not know what to tell you except that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, ‘Any hide that is tanned has become pure.’”

سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ جُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «دِبَاغُهَا طَهُورُهَا»
✧ I asked Ibn 'Abbas about the skins of dead animals, and he said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘Its tanning is its purification.’”
Sunan ad-Darimi 2030Hasan
أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُسْتَمْتَعَ بِجُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ إِذَا دُبِغَتْ
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that the skins of dead animals be utilized when they are tanned.
Sunan ad-Darimi 2031Sahih
مَاتَتْ شَاةٌ لِمَيْمُونَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَوِ اسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِإِهَابِهَا؟» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا حُرِّمَ أَكْلُهَا»
✧ A sheep belonging to Maymunah died, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Why did you not make use of its hide?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is a dead animal." He said: "Only its eating is forbidden."

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ نَحْوَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ «مَا تَقُولُ فِي الثَّعَالِبِ إِذَا دُبِغَتْ» قَالَ «أَكْرَهُهَا»
✧ Muhammad b. al-Musaffa informed us; Baqiyyah narrated to us; from al-Zubaydi; from al-Zuhri; from 'Ubayd Allah; from Ibn 'Abbas; from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar to this hadith. It was said to Abu Muhammad: "What do you say about furs of foxes when they are tanned?" He said: "I dislike them."

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْإِنْسِيَّةِ»
"The Messenger of Allah forbade Mut'ah and the flesh of domesticated donkeys on the Day of Khaibar." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4335)

قَامَ رَجُلٌ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُكِلَتِ الْحُمُرُ أَوْ أُفْنِيَتِ الْحُمُرُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُفْنِيَتِ الْحُمُرُ أَوْ أُكِلَتِ الْحُمُرُ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا فَنَادَى «إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ يَنْهَيَانِكُمْ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ فَإِنَّهَا رِجْسٌ»
✧ "O Messenger of Allah, the donkeys have been eaten or are being slaughtered." Then he said, "O Messenger of Allah, the donkeys have been slaughtered or are being eaten." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered a man to announce, "Indeed, Allah and His Messenger prohibit you from consuming donkey meat, as it is impure."

«أَكَلْنَا لَحْمَ فَرَسٍ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْمَدِينَةِ»
✧ "We ate the meat of a horse during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Madinah."
Sunan ad-Darimi 2036Sahih
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ وَأَذِنَ فِي لُحُومِ الْخَيْلِ»
✧ "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited on the day of Khaybar the meat of domesticated donkeys, and he permitted the meat of horses."

«لَا يَنْتَهِبُ نُهْبَةً ذَاتَ شَرَفٍ يَرْفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ فِيهَا أَبْصَارَهُمْ وَهُوَ حِينَ يَنْتَهِبُهَا مُؤْمِنٌ»
✧ "He does not snatch a plunder of significant value, one in which the believers raise their eyes toward it, while he is a believer at the time he snatches it."

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ النُّهْبَةِ»
✧ "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited looting."
قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا بِأَرْضٍ تَكُونُ بِهَا الْمَخْمَصَةُ فَمَا يَحِلُّ لَنَا مِنَ الْمَيْتَةِ؟ قَالَ «إِذَا لَمْ تَصْطَبِحُوا وَلَمْ تَغْتَبِقُوا وَلَمْ تَخْتَفِئُوا بَقْلًا فَشَأْنُكُمْ بِهَا» قَالَ النَّاسُ يَقُولُونَ بِالْحَاءِ وَهَذَا قَالَ بِالْخَاءِ
✧ We said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are in a land where famine occurs; what of dead animals is lawful for us?" He said: "When you have not drunk the morning milk, nor the evening milk, nor gathered wild herbs, then you may make use of it." People say with a ha', but this one said with a kha'.

أَهْدَيْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِقْحَةً فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَحْلُبَهَا فَحَلَبْتُهَا فَجَهَدْتُ فِي حَلْبِهَا فَقَالَ «دَعْ دَاعِيَ اللَّبَنِ»
✧ I gifted a milch camel to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he commanded me to milk it. I milked it and exerted myself in milking it. He said: "Leave the remaining milk in the udder."

نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الضِّفْدَعِ»
✧ He prohibited killing frogs."

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ قَتْلِ أَرْبَعَةٍ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ النَّمْلَةِ وَالنَّحْلَةِ وَالْهُدْهُدِ وَالصُّرَدِ
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited killing four creatures: the ant, the bee, the hoopoe, and the shrike.
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ» أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْأَوْزَاغِ
It was narrated from Umm Sharik that the Prophet ﷺ told her to kill house lizards. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3228)
Sunan ad-Darimi 2044Sahih
نَهَى عَنِ الْمُجَثَّمَةِ وَعَنْ لَبَنِ الْجَلَّالَةِ وَأَنْ يُشْرَبَ مِنْ فِي السِّقَاءِ»
✧ He prohibited eating animals that have been tied up and shot, and the milk of animals that eat filth, and drinking from the mouth of a water skin."
