✧ What is not permissible in sacrifice

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ فَيْرُوزَ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ الْبَرَاءَ عَمَّا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْأَضَاحِيِّ فَقَالَ أَرْبَعٌ لَا يُجْزِئْنَ الْعَوْرَاءُ الْبَيِّنُ عَوَرُهَا وَالْعَرْجَاءُ الْبَيِّنُ ظَلْعُهَا وَالْمَرِيضَةُ الْبَيِّنُ مَرَضُهَا وَالْكَسِيرُ الَّتِي لَا تُنْقِي

Translation

✧ I asked al-Bara' about what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited among sacrificial animals. He said: “Four are not sufficient: the one-eyed whose defect is obvious, the lame whose lameness is obvious, the sick whose sickness is obvious, and the broken [or emaciated] one that has no marrow.”
