✧ What is not permissible in sacrifice

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ الصَّائِدِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ وَأَنْ لَا نُضَحِّيَ بِمُقَابَلَةٍ وَلَا مُدَابَرَةٍ وَلَا خَرْقَاءَ وَلَا شَرْقَاءَ»

Translation

✧ "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to trim the eye and ear, and not to shave, trim, or pierce." So, "trimming" refers to cutting the edge of the ear, "shaving" refers to cutting from the side of the ear, "pierced" refers to a perforated (eared?) one, and "split" refers to a split one.
