كُنَّا نُصَلِّي وَالدَّوَابُّ تَمُرُّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا، فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: مِثْلُ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ يَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَحَدِكُمْ، ثُمَّ لَا يَضُرُّهُ مَا يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ
✧ We used to pray while animals passed in front of us, so we mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: Something like the back of a saddle should be in front of one of you, then what passes in front of him will not harm him.

✧ The Prophet of God ﷺ used to perform ablution after eating camel meat and drinking its milk, and he did not pray in their resting places, and he did not perform ablution after eating sheep meat and drinking its milk, and he prayed in their enclosures.

أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ، دَعَا بِمَاءٍ لِلْوُضُوءِ، وَعِنْدَهُ الزُّبَيْرُ، وَطَلْحَةُ، وَعَلِيٌّ، وَسَعْدٌ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ، وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، ثُمَّ أَفْرَغَ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، وَغَسَلَ شِمَالَهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ، وَرَشَّ عَلَى رِجْلِهِ الْيُمْنَى، ثُمَّ غَسَلَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، ثُمَّ رَشَّ عَلَى رِجْلِهِ الْيُسْرَى، ثُمَّ غَسَلَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلَّذِينَ حَضَرُوا: " أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ، أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ كَمَا تَوَضَّأْتُ الْآنَ ؟ " قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، وَذَلِكَ لِشَيْءٍ بَلَغَهُ عَنْ وُضُوءِ قَوْمٍ
✧ ʿUthman b. ʿAffan called for water for ablution while al-Zubayr, Talhah, ʿAli, and Saʿd were with him. Then he performed ablution while they watched. He washed his face three times, then poured water over his right arm three times, washed his left arm three times, wiped his head, sprinkled water on his right foot, then washed it three times, then sprinkled water on his left foot, then washed it three times. Then he said to those present: I adjure you by God, do you know that the Messenger of God ﷺ used to perform ablution as I have just performed ablution? They said: Yes. That was because of something that had reached him about the ablution of some people.

أَتَى ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " مَنْ يَكْفِينِي هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ " فَكَفَيْتُهُمْ. فَبَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْثًا، فَخَرَجَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ فَقُتِلَ، ثُمَّ مَكَثَ الْآخَرَانِ عِنْدِي، ثُمَّ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْثًا، وَخَرَجَ الْآخَرُ فَقُتِلَ، ثُمَّ مَكَثَ الْآخَرُ عِنْدِي، فَمَرِضَ، فَمَاتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ. قَالَ طَلْحَةُ: فَأُرِيتُهُمْ فِي الْمَنَامِ كَأَنَّ الَّذِي مَاتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ كَانَ أَوَّلَهُمْ دُخُولًا الْجَنَّةَ، وَآخِرُهُمْ دُخُولًا الَّذِي قُتِلَ أَوَّلَهُمْ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: " وَمَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنْ هَذَا ؟ إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ بِكَذَا وَكَذَا تَسْبِيحَةٍ
✧ Three men came to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the Messenger of God ﷺ said: Who will suffice me against these? So I sufficed him against them. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ sent out an expedition, and one of those men went out and was killed. Then the other two stayed with me. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ sent out another expedition, and the second man went out and was killed. Then the last one stayed with me, fell ill, and died on his bed. Talhah said: I saw them in a dream as if the one who died on his bed was the first of them to enter Paradise, and the last of them to enter was the one who was killed first. I mentioned that to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: What do you find strange about this? Indeed, the believer has such and such glorifications.

" كُنَّا مَعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، وَنَحْنُ حُرُمٌ، فَأُهْدِيَ لَهُ طَيْرٌ، وَطَلْحَةُ رَاقِدٌ، فَأَكَلَ بَعْضُنَا وَبَعْضُنَا تَوَرَّعَ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ طَلْحَةُ وَفَّقَ مَنْ أَكَلَ، وَقَالَ: " أَكَلْنَاهُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ
✧ We were with Talhah b. ʿUbayd Allah while we were in a state of ihram, and a bird was gifted to him while Talhah was asleep. Some of us ate from it and some of us abstained out of scrupulousness. When Talhah woke up, he approved of those who ate and said: We ate it with the Messenger of God ﷺ.

" كُنْتُ عِنْدَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ مَا نَدْرِي: هَذَا الْيَمَانِيُّ أَعْلَمُ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ مِنْكُمْ. أَمْ هُوَ يَقُولُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا لَمْ يَقُلْ ؟ فَقَالَ: وَاللهِ مَا نَشُكُّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا لَمْ نَسْمَعْ، وَعَلِمَ مَا لَمْ نَعْلَمْ. إِنَّا كُنَّا أَقْوَامًا أَغْنِيَاءَ لَنَا بُيُوتَاتٌ وَأَهْلُونَ، وَكُنَّا نَأْتِي نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ، ثُمَّ نَرْجِعُ، وَكَانَ مِسْكِينًا لَا مَالَ لَهُ، وَلَا أَهْلَ إِنَّمَا كَانَتْ يَدُهُ مَعَ يَدِ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ يَدُورُ مَعَهُ حَيْثُمَا دَارَ، فَمَا نَشُكُّ أَنَّهُ قَدْ عَلِمَ مَا لَمْ نَعْلَمْ، وَسَمِعَ مَا لَمْ نَسْمَعْ، وَلَمْ نَجِدْ أَحَدًا فِيهِ خَيْرٌ يَقُولُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا لَمْ يَقُلْ "
✧ I was with Talhah b. ʿUbayd Allah when a man entered and said: O Abu Muhammad, we do not know whether this Yamani is more knowledgeable about the Messenger of God than you, or whether he says about the Messenger of God ﷺ what he did not say. He said: By God, we do not doubt that he heard from the Messenger of God ﷺ what we did not hear and knew what we did not know. We were wealthy people with houses and families, and we used to come to the Prophet of God ﷺ at the two ends of the day and then return. He was poor, with no wealth and no family; his hand was with the hand of the Prophet of God ﷺ, and he went around with him wherever he went. So we do not doubt that he came to know what we did not know and heard what we did not hear, and we do not find anyone with any good in him saying about the Messenger of God ﷺ what he did not say.

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ فَقَالَ: " يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ أَرَأَيْتُكَ هَذَا الْيَمَانِيُّ، أَوْ قَالَ الْخَضِرُ: الْيَمَانِيُّ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِحَدِيثِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْكُمْ - يَعْنِي: أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ - نَسْمَعُ مِنْهُ أَشْيَاءَ لَا نَسْمَعُهَا مِنْكُمْ ؟ فَقَالَ: أَمَا أَنْ يَكُونَ قَدْ سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا لَمْ نَسْمَعْ فَلَا أَشُكُّ، وَسَأُخْبِرُكَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، إِنَّا كُنَّا أَهْلَ بُيُوتٍ، وَكُنَّا إِنَّمَا نَأْتِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ غُدْوَةً وَعَشِيَّةً، وَكَانَ مِسْكِينًا لَا مَالَ لَهُ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ عَلَى بَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَا أَشُكُّ أَنَّهُ قَدْ سَمِعَ مَا لَمْ نَسْمَعْ. وَهَلْ تَجِدُ أَحَدًا فِيهِ خَيْرٌ يَقُولُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا لَمْ يَقُلْ ؟
✧ A man came to Talhah b. ʿUbayd Allah and said: O Abu Muhammad, what do you think of this Yamani — or he said: al-Khidr said — the Yamani is more knowledgeable of the hadith of the Messenger of God ﷺ than you — meaning Abu Hurayrah — we hear from him things we do not hear from you? He said: As for his having heard from the Messenger of God ﷺ what we did not hear, I do not doubt it, and I will tell you about that. We were people of households, and we used to come to the Messenger of God ﷺ in the morning and the evening, while he was poor with no wealth, just at the door of the Messenger of God ﷺ. So I do not doubt that he heard what we did not hear. And do you find anyone with any good in him saying about the Messenger of God ﷺ what he did not say?

مَرَرْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فِي رُءُوسِ النَّخْلِ، فَقَالَ: " مَا يَصْنَعُ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ " قَالُوا: يُلَقِّحُونَهُ، فَيَجْعَلُونَ الذَّكَرَ فِي الْأُنْثَى فَيَتَلَقَّحُ. قَالَ: " مَا أَظُنُّ ذَلِكَ يُغْنِي شَيْئًا " فَأَخَذُوا بِذَلِكَ فَتَرَكُوهُ، فَأُخْبِرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: إِنْ كَانَ يَنْفَعُهُمْ فَلْيَصْنَعُوهُ، فَإِنِّي إِنَّمَا ظَنَنْتُ ظَنًّا، فَلَا تُؤَاخِذُونِي بِالظَّنِّ، وَلَكِنْ إِذَا أَخْبَرْتُكُمْ عَنِ اللهِ بِشَيْءٍ فَخُذُوهُ، فَإِنِّي لَنْ أَكْذِبَ عَلَى اللهِ شَيْئًا
✧ I passed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ by a people on the tops of the palm trees, and he said: "What are these people doing?" They said: "They are pollinating them, putting the male into the female so it becomes pollinated." He said: "I do not think that avails anything." So they took that and abandoned it. The Prophet ﷺ was informed of that, and he said: "If it benefits them, let them do it. I only thought a thought, so do not take me to task for conjecture. But when I tell you something from Allah, take it, for I will never tell a lie against Allah."

سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ لِطَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ: مَا لِي أَرَاكَ شَعِثْتَ وَاغْبَرَرْتَ مُذْ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَعَلَّهُ أَنَّ مَا بِكَ إِمَارَةُ ابْنِ عَمِّكَ ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ: مَعَاذَ اللهِ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَا يَقُولُهَا رَجُلٌ يَحْضُرُهُ الْمَوْتُ إِلَّا وَجَدَ رُوحَهُ لَهَا رَوْحًا حَتَّى تَخْرُجَ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ "، فَلَمْ أَسْأَلْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْهَا، وَلَمْ يُخْبِرْنِي بِهَا، فَذَاكَ الَّذِي دَخَلَنِي، قَالَ عُمَرُ: فَأَنَا أَعْلَمُهَا، قَالَ: فَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ، فَمَا هِيَ ؟ قَالَ: الْكَلِمَةُ الَّتِي قَالَهَا لِعَمِّهِ، قَالَ: صَدَقْتَ
✧ I heard Umar saying to Talhah b. Ubayd Allah: "Why do I see you disheveled and dusty since the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died? Perhaps it is the rule of your cousin that bothers you?" He said: "I seek refuge with Allah. I heard him say: 'I know a word which no man says when death is present to him except that his soul finds relief through it until it leaves his body, and it will be light for him on the Day of Resurrection.' So I did not ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, and he did not tell it to me. That is what has entered me." Umar said: "I know it." He said: "Praise be to Allah. What is it?" He said: "The word he said to his uncle." He said: "You have spoken truth."

سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَلِمَةً لَمْ أَسْأَلْهُ عَنْهَا حَتَّى مَاتَ، أَوْ قُبِضَ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَا يَقُولُهَا رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا فِي صَحِيفَتِهِ، وَإِنَّ رُوحَهُ وَجَسَدَهُ لَيَجِدَانِ لَهَا رَاحَةً عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُهَا، هِيَ الْكَلِمَةُ الَّتِي أَرَادَ عَلَيْهَا عَمَّهُ، لَا أُرَاهَا إِلَّا إِيَّاهَا
✧ I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a word I did not ask him about until he died, or was taken. He said: "I know a word which no man says at his death except that it will be light for him in his record, and his soul and body will find comfort through it at death." Umar said: "I know it. It is the word he wanted from his uncle. I do not think it is anything but that."

مَرَّ عُمَرُ، بِطَلْحَةَ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: " مَا لِي أَرَاكَ مُكْتَئِبًا ؟ أَيَسُوؤُكَ إِمْرَةُ ابْنِ عَمِّكَ ؟ قَالَ: لَا، وَلَكِنْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَا يَقُولُهَا عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا كَانَتْ نُورًا لِصَحِيفَتِهِ، وَإِنَّ جَسَدَهُ وَرُوحَهُ لَيَجِدَانِ لَهَا رَوْحًا عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ " فَقَالَ: أَنَا أَعْلَمُهَا، هِيَ الَّتِي أَرَادَ عَلَيْهَا عَمَّهُ، وَلَوْ عَلِمَ أَنَّ شَيْئًا أَنْجَى لَهُ مِنْهَا لَأَمَرَهُ
✧ Umar passed by Talhah after the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "Why do I see you dejected? Does the rule of your cousin displease you?" He said: "No, but I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'I know a word which no one says at his death except that it will be light for his record, and his body and soul will find relief through it at death.'" He said: "I know it. It is the one he wanted from his uncle. If he had known that anything would save him more than it, he would have commanded him with it."

قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ بِحَلُوبَةٍ لِي، فَنَزَلْتُ عَلَى طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، فَقُلْتُ: إِنَّهُ لَا عِلْمَ لِي بِأَهْلِ السُّوقِ، فَلَوْ بِعْتَ لِي، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ، وَلَكِنِ اذْهَبْ إِلَى السُّوقِ فَانْظُرْ مَنْ يُبَايِعُكَ فَشَاوِرْنِي حَتَّى آمُرَكَ أَوْ أَنْهَاكَ
✧ I came to Madinah with a milch camel of mine, and I stayed with Talhah b. Ubayd Allah. I said: "I have no knowledge of the people of the market, so if you would sell for me." He said: "The Prophet ﷺ forbade a settled person from selling for a Bedouin. But go to the market and see who will do business with you, then consult me so I may command you or forbid you."

جَلَسَ إِلَيَّ وَأَنَا فِي مَسْجِدِ الْبَصْرَةِ فِي زَمَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ، وَفِي يَدِهِ عَصَاهُ وَصَحِيفَةٌ يَحْمِلُهَا فِي يَدِهِ، فَقَالَ: يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ، تَرَى هَذَا الْكِتَابَ نَافِعِي عِنْدَ صَاحِبِكُمْ هَذَا ؟ قُلْتُ: وَمَا هَذَا الْكِتَابُ ؟ قَالَ: كِتَابٌ كَتَبَهُ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، قُلْتُ: وَكَيْفَ كَتَبَهُ لَكُمْ ؟ قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ مَعَ أَبِي وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ شَابٌّ فِي إِبِلٍ جَلَبْنَاهَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ لِنَبِيعَهَا - قَالَ: وَكَانَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ صَدِيقًا لِأَبِي - فَنَزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ أَبِي: أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ، اخْرُجْ مَعَنَا فَبِعْ لَنَا ظَهْرَنَا، فَإِنَّهُ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَا بِهَذِهِ السُّوقِ. قَالَ: " أَمَّا أَنْ أَبِيعَ لَكَ فَلَا. إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ، وَلَكِنْ سَأَخْرُجُ مَعَكُمَا إِلَى السُّوقِ، فَإِذَا رَضِيتُ لَكُمَا رَجُلًا مِمَّنْ يُبَايِعُكُمَا أَمَرْتُكُمَا بِبَيْعِهِ " قَالَ: فَخَرَجْنَا وَخَرَجَ مَعَنَا، فَجَلَسَ فِي نَاحِيَةٍ مِنَ السُّوقِ، وَسَاوَمَنَا الرِّجَالُ بِظَهْرِنَا، حَتَّى إِذَا أَعْطَانَا رَجُلٌ مَا يُرْضِينَا أَتَيْنَاهُ فَاسْتَأْمَرْنَاهُ فِي بَيْعِهِ، فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ فَبَايِعُوهُ، فَقَدْ رَضِيتُ لَكُمَا وَفَاءَهُ وَمَلَأَهُ. قَالَ: فَبَايَعْنَاهُ، وَأَخَذْنَا الَّذِي لَنَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي: خُذْ لَنَا كِتَابًا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ لَا يُتَعَدَّى عَلَيْنَا فِي صَدَقَاتِنَا. قَالَ: ذَاكَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ. فَقُلْنَا: وَإِنْ كَانَ. قَالَ: فَمَشَى بِنَا، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ هَذَيْنِ يُحِبَّانِ أَنْ تَكْتُبَ لَهُمَا أَنْ لَا يُتَعَدَّى عَلَيْهِمَا فِي صَدَقَاتِهِمَا، قَالَ: " ذَاكَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ " قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهُمَا يُحِبَّانِ أَنْ يَكُونَ عِنْدَهُمَا مِنْكَ كِتَابٌ، قَالَ: فَكَتَبَ لَهُمَا هَذَا الْكِتَابَ، فَتَرَاهُ نَافِعِي عِنْدَ صَاحِبِكُمْ هَذَا ؟ فَقَدْ وَاللهِ تُعُدِّيَ عَلَيْنَا فِي صَدَقَاتِنَا، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لَا أَظُنُّ وَاللهِ
✧ He sat with me while I was in the mosque of Basra in the time of al-Hajjaj b. Yusuf, with his staff in his hand and a document he was carrying in his hand. He said: "O Abdullah, do you think this document will benefit me with this ruler of yours?" I said: "What is this document?" He said: "A document the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote for us." I said: "How did he write it?" He said: "I came to Madinah with my father when I was a young boy, with camels we brought to Madinah to sell. Talhah b. Ubayd Allah was a friend of my father, so we stayed with him. My father said: 'Abu Muhammad, come out with us and sell our riding camels for us, for we have no knowledge of this market.' He said: 'As for selling for you, no. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a settled person from selling for a Bedouin. But I will go out with you to the market, and when I approve of a man for you among those who trade with you, I will command you to sell to him.' So we went out, and he went out with us. He sat in a corner of the market, and men bargained with us for our camels, until when a man offered us what satisfied us, we came to him and sought his advice about selling to him. He said: 'Yes, then do business with him, for I approve of his faithfulness and his fullness for you.' So we traded with him and took what was ours. Then my father said to him: 'Get a document for us from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that we will not be wronged in our sadaqahs.' He said: 'That is for every Muslim.' We said: 'Even so.' He said: 'He walked with us and said: O Messenger of Allah, these two would like you to write for them that they will not be wronged in their sadaqahs.' He said: 'That is for every Muslim.' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, they would like to have a document from you.' So he wrote this document for them. Do you think it will benefit me with this ruler of yours? By Allah, we have been wronged in our sadaqahs.' I said: 'I do not think so, by Allah.'"

أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ أَسْلَمَا، فَقُتِلَ أَحَدُهُمَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، وَأُخِّرَ الْآخَرُ بَعْدَ الْمَقْتُولِ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ مَاتَ، قَالَ طَلْحَةُ: رَأَيْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فِي الْمَنَامِ، فَرَأَيْتُ الْآخِرَ مِنَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ قَبْلَ الْأَوَّلِ، فَأَصْبَحْتُ فَحَدَّثْتُ النَّاسَ بِذَلِكَ، فَبَلَغَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: أَلَيْسَ قَدْ صَامَ بَعْدَهُ رَمَضَانَ، وَصَلَّى بَعْدَهُ سِتَّةَ آلَافِ رَكْعَةٍ، وَكَذَا وَكَذَا رَكْعَةً ؟ !
✧ Two men from Bali accepted Islam. One of them was killed in the way of Allah, and the other was delayed after the killed one for a year, then died. Talhah said: "I saw Paradise in a dream, and I saw the latter of the two men admitted to Paradise before the first. In the morning I told the people about that, and it reached the Prophet ﷺ. He said: 'Did he not fast Ramadan after him, and pray six thousand rak'ahs after him, and such and such rak'ahs?'"

✧ Umar saw Talhah b. Ubayd Allah looking sad, and said: "What is the matter with you?" He said: "I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: 'I know some words which no servant says at the time of death except that relief is granted to him, his complexion brightens, and he sees what pleases him.'" What prevented me from asking him about them was only my ability to bear them. Umar said: "I know what they are." Talhah said: "What are they?" He said: "Do you know any word that is better than the word to which the Messenger of God ﷺ called his uncle at the time of death?" Talhah said: "By God, it is that." Umar said: "There is no god but God."

✧ The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to a Bedouin who came asking him about the one who had fulfilled his vow: Who is he? They would not venture to ask him, as they held him in awe and reverence. He said: The Bedouin asked him, but he turned away from him. Then he asked him again, but he turned away from him. Then I looked in from the door of the mosque wearing green garments, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me, he said: "Where is the one asking about the one who has fulfilled his vow?" The Bedouin said: I am he, O Messenger of Allah. He said: "This is one of those who has fulfilled his vow."
