حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى ابْنَيْ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا

أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالُوا لِأَعْرَابِيٍّ جَاءَ يَسْأَلُهُ عَمَّنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ: مَنْ هُوَ ؟ فَكَانُوا لَا يَجْتَرِئُونَ عَلَى مَسْأَلَتِهِ، يُوَقِّرُونَهُ وَيَهَابُونَهُ، قَالَ: فَسَأَلَهُ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، ثُمَّ سَأَلَهُ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، ثُمَّ إِنِّي اطَّلَعْتُ مِنْ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ وَعَلَيَّ ثِيَابٌ خُضْرٌ، فَلَمَّا رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَمَّنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ ؟ " قَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: هَذَا مِمَّنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ

Translation

✧ The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to a Bedouin who came asking him about the one who had fulfilled his vow: Who is he? They would not venture to ask him, as they held him in awe and reverence. He said: The Bedouin asked him, but he turned away from him. Then he asked him again, but he turned away from him. Then I looked in from the door of the mosque wearing green garments, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me, he said: "Where is the one asking about the one who has fulfilled his vow?" The Bedouin said: I am he, O Messenger of Allah. He said: "This is one of those who has fulfilled his vow."
