   " إِنَّ فِي ابْنِ آدَمَ مُضْغَةً إِذَا صَلَحَتْ صَلَحَ سَائِرُ جَسَدِهِ وَإِذَا فَسَدَتْ فَسَدَ سَائِرُ جَسَدِهِ؛ وَهُوَ الْقَلْبُ

   ✧ In the son of Adam there is a lump of flesh: if it is sound, the rest of his body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the rest of his body is corrupt. It is the heart.

   أَنَّ أَبَاهُ نَحَلَهُ نُحْلًا فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُشْهِدَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: " أَكُلَّ وَلَدِكَ نَحَلْتَ كَمَا نَحَلْتَهُ ؟ "، فَقَالَ: لَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ أَنْ تَعْدِلَ بَيْنَ وَلَدِكَ كَمَا عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الْحَقِّ أَنْ يَبَرُّوكَ

   ✧ His father gave him a gift and wanted to have the Prophet ﷺ witness it, so he said: Did you give all your children as you gave him? He said: No. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: It is obligatory on you to be just among your children just as it is obligatory on them to treat you kindly.

   " أَلَا إِنَّ مَثَلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَثَلَ تَوَادِّهِمْ وَتَحَابِّهِمْ وَتَرَاحُمِهِمْ مَثَلُ الْجَسَدِ؛ إِذَا اشْتَكَى بَعْضُهُ تَدَاعَى سَائِرُهُ بِالسَّهَرِ وَالْحُمَّى

   ✧ Indeed, the likeness of the believers in their mutual love, affection, and compassion is that of the body: when one part of it complains, the rest of the body responds with sleeplessness and fever.

   كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُقِيمُ الصَّفَّ حَتَّى يَجْعَلَهُ كَالْقَدَحِ أَوْ كَالرُّمْحِ، حَتَّى إِذَا ظَنَّ أَنَّا قَدْ أَخَذْنَا ذَاكَ عَنْهُ وَعَقَلْنَاهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا مُنْتَبِذًا بِصَدْرِهِ عَنِ الصَّفِّ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: عِبَادَ اللهِ، لَتُسَوُّنَّ صُفُوفَكُمْ أَوْ لَيُخَالِفَنَّ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَيْنَ وُجُوهِكُمْ

   ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ used to straighten the rows until he made them like an arrow shaft or a spear. Then, when he thought that we had learned that from him and understood it, he saw a man whose chest was protruding from the row, so the Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Servants of God, you shall straighten your rows or God, Mighty and Majestic, will certainly cause discord among your faces.”

   " أَنْذَرْتُكُمُ النَّارَ "، حَتَّى لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مَوْضِعَ كَذَا وَكَذَا سَمِعَ صَوْتَهُ

   ✧ “I have warned you of the Fire,” until if a man were at such-and-such a place, he would hear his voice.

   " لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا فِي سَفَرٍ مَعَهُ رَاحِلَتُهُ عَلَيْهَا زَادُهُ وَسِقَاؤُهُ فَضَلَّتْ فَعَلَا شَرَفًا فَنَظَرَ فَلَمْ يَرَ شَيْئًا، فَبَيْنَا هُوَ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا عَلَيْهَا زَادُهُ وَسِقَاؤُهُ، فَلَلَّهُ أَشَدُّ فَرَحًا بِتَوْبَةِ عَبْدِهِ مِنْ صَاحِبِ الرَّاحِلَةِ بِرَاحِلَتِهِ

   ✧ “If a man were on a journey with his mount, upon which are his provisions and water-skin, and it strayed, so he climbed an elevation and looked but did not see anything. Then while he was thus, suddenly he saw it with its provisions and water-skin. God is more intensely joyful at the repentance of His servant than the owner of the mount at finding his mount.”

   ✧ “In Friday prayer and the two Eids he recited: ‘Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High’ and ‘Has there come to you the story of the Overwhelming?’”

   أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّ زَوْجِي وَقَعَ عَلَى جَارِيَتِي بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِي. قَالَ النُّعْمَانُ: عِنْدِي فِي هَذَا قَضَاءٌ شَافٍ أَخَذْتُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؛ إِنْ لَمْ تَكُونِي أَذِنْتِ لَهُ رَجَمْتُهُ، وَإِنْ كُنْتِ أَذِنْتِ لَهُ جَلَدْتُهُ مِائَةً، فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّاسُ: وَيْحَكِ، أَبُو وَلَدِكِ يُرْجَمُ ! فَجَاءَتْ فَقَالَتْ: قَدْ كُنْتُ أَذِنْتُ لَهُ، وَلَكِنْ حَمَلَنِي الْغَيْرَةُ عَلَى مَا قُلْتُ ! فَجَلَدَهُ مِائَةً

   ✧ A woman came to al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr and said: “My husband had intercourse with my slave-girl without my permission.” Al-Nuʿmān said: “I have a decisive judgment regarding this which I took from the Messenger of God ﷺ: If you had not given him permission, I would stone him; but if you had given him permission, I will flog him with a hundred lashes.” Then the people said to her: “Woe to you! The father of your child is to be stoned!” So she came back and said: “I had given him permission, but jealousy carried me to say what I said!” So he flogged him with a hundred lashes.

    إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ النَّاسِ بِوَقْتِ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ - يَعْنِي عِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةِ؛ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّيهَا لِسُقُوطِ الْقَمَرِ لِثَالِثَةٍ

    ✧ I am the most knowledgeable of people about the time of this prayer—meaning the late evening prayer. The Messenger of God ﷺ used to pray it at the setting of the moon on the third night.

    ✧ “The one among the people of the Fire with the lightest punishment is a man on the soles of whose feet are two coals—or a coal—from which his brain boils.”

    " إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ فِتَنًا كَأَنَّهَا قِطَعُ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ، يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ مُؤْمِنًا وَيُمْسِي كَافِرًا، وَيُمْسِي مُؤْمِنًا وَيُصْبِحُ كَافِرًا، يَبِيعُ أَقْوَامٌ خَلَاقَهُمْ بِعَرَضٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٍ

    ✧ Indeed, before the Hour there will be trials like patches of a dark night. A man will wake up a believer and become a disbeliever by evening, and he will be a believer in the evening and become a disbeliever by morning. People will sell their religion for a small portion of this world.
