حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ
أَنَّ أَبَاهُ نَحَلَهُ نُحْلًا فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُشْهِدَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: " أَكُلَّ وَلَدِكَ نَحَلْتَ كَمَا نَحَلْتَهُ ؟ "، فَقَالَ: لَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ أَنْ تَعْدِلَ بَيْنَ وَلَدِكَ كَمَا عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الْحَقِّ أَنْ يَبَرُّوكَ
Translation

✧ His father gave him a gift and wanted to have the Prophet ﷺ witness it, so he said: Did you give all your children as you gave him? He said: No. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: It is obligatory on you to be just among your children just as it is obligatory on them to treat you kindly.
