حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، قَالَ:

إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ النَّاسِ بِوَقْتِ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ - يَعْنِي عِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةِ؛ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّيهَا لِسُقُوطِ الْقَمَرِ لِثَالِثَةٍ

Translation

  5. al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr

✧ I am the most knowledgeable of people about the time of this prayer—meaning the late evening prayer. The Messenger of God ﷺ used to pray it at the setting of the moon on the third night.
