✧ "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me, and I offered him a shoulder blade I had been scraping; he ate it, then stood for prayer."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا خَرَجَ إِلَى أُحُدٍ جَعَلَ نِسَاءَهُ فِي أُطُمٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ فَارِعٌ وَجَعَلَ مَعَهُنَّ حَسَّانُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ» فَكَانَ حَسَّانُ يَطْلُعُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَإِذَا شَدَّ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَشَدَّ مَعَهُ فِي الْحِصْنِ وَإِذَا رَجَعَ رَجَعَ وَرَاءَهُ قَالَتْ فَجَاءَ أُنَاسٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ فَتَرَقَّى أَحَدُهُمْ فِي الْحِصْنِ حَتَّى أَطَلَّ الْحِصْنَ عَلَيْنَا فَقُلْتُ لِحَسَّانَ قُمْ إِلَيْهِ فَاقْتُلْهُ فَقَالَ مَا ذَاكَ فِيَّ وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِيَّ لَكُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَضَرَبَتْ صَفِيَّةُ رَأْسَهُ حَتَّى قَطَعَتْهُ فَلَمَّا قَطَعَتْهُ قَالَتْ يَا حَسَّانُ قُمْ إِلَى رَأْسِهِ فَارْمِ بِهِ إِلَيْهِمْ وَهُمْ مِنْ أَسْفَلِ الْحِصْنِ فَقَالَ وَاللهِ مَا ذَاكَ فِيَّ قَالَتْ فَأَخَذْتُ بِرَأْسِهِ فَرَمَيْتُهُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالُوا قَدْ وَاللهِ عَلِمْنَا أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا لَمْ يَتْرُكْ أَهْلَهُ خُلُوفًا لَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ أَحَدٌ وتَفَرَّقُوا وَذَهَبُوا قَالَتْ وَمَرَّ قَبْلَ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ وَبِهِ أَثَرُ صُفْرَةٍ كَأَنَّهُ كَانَ مُعَرِّسًا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ
✧ "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out for Uhud, he placed his women in a fortress called Fari', and placed with them Hassan b. Thabit." Hassan would watch for the Prophet ﷺ; if he pressed against the polytheists, he pressed with him in the fortress, and if he returned, he returned behind him. She said: Some people from the Jews came, and one of them climbed the fortress until he looked down upon us. I said to Hassan, 'Get up and kill him.' He said, 'That is not in me; if that were in me, I would have been with the Prophet ﷺ.' Safiyyah struck his head until she cut it off. When she cut it off, she said, 'O Hassan, get up and throw his head at them, for they are below the fortress.' He said, 'By Allah, that is not in me.' She said: So I took his head and threw it at them. They said, 'By Allah, we knew that Muhammad would not leave his family unguarded with no one with them,' and they dispersed and went away. She said: Sa'd b. Mu'adh passed by before, and upon him was a trace of yellow perfume, as if he had been a new groom before that, and he was saying

اطْمَأَنَّ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ طَافَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ يَسْتَلِمُ الْحَجَرَ بِمِحْجَنٍ بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ فَرَأَى جَمَاعَةَ عِيدَانٍ فَقَامَ فَكَسَرَهَا ثُمَّ رَمَاهَا وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ»
✧ When the people were at ease on the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ circumambulated on a camel, touching the Stone with a staff in his hand, then entered the Ka'bah while I watched. He saw a group of idols, stood up, broke them, and threw them away while I watched.

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَلَّ ثَوْبًا وَهُوَ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ يَضْرِبُ التَّصَاوِيرَ الَّتِي فِيهَا»
✧ "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wet a cloth while he was in the Ka'bah, then began striking the images that were in it."

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ circumambulated in the year of the conquest, when he entered Makkah, on his mount around the House, touching the corner with his staff.

✧ I came to Safiyyah bint Shaybah, an elderly woman, and said to her, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ marry while he was in ihram?" She said, "No, and he married her while they were both out of ihram."

✧ She used to say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade fasting on Saturday and said, "If one of you finds nothing but a green twig, let him break his fast with it."

✧ that she heard the Prophet ﷺ say: "Do not fast on Saturday except in what is obligatory upon you, and if one of you finds nothing but the bark of a tree, let him chew it."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَلْيَمُتْ فَمَنْ مَاتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا» هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَخْضَرِ وَخُولِفَ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ
✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever is able to die in Madinah, let him die there, for whoever dies in Madinah, I will be a witness or an intercessor for him." This is how Salih b. Abi al-Akhdar narrated it, and he was contradicted in its chain of transmission.

عَنْ صُمَيْتَةَ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي لَيْثِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ كَانَتْ فِي حِجْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُهَا تُحَدِّثُ صَفِيَّةَ ابْنَةَ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَلْيَمُتْ فَإِنَّهُ يَمُتْ شَهِيدًا وَيُشَفَّعُ لَهُ»
✧ From Sumaytah, a woman from Banu Layth b. Bakr who was in the care of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: I heard her telling Safiyyah bint Abi 'Ubayd that she heard the Prophet ﷺ say: "Whoever among you is able to die in Madinah, let him die there, for he will die as a martyr and intercession will be made for him."

✧ that Duba'ah bint al-Zubayr b. 'Abd al-Muttalib came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I want to perform Hajj; should I make a condition?" He said: "Yes." She said: "How should I say it?" He said: "Say: Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, my place of leaving ihram is wherever You detain me on earth."

✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered upon Dubāʿah bint al-Zubayr b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib while she was ill. She said, "I intend to perform Hajj, but I am ill." He said: "Perform Hajj and stipulate a condition. Say: O Allah, my place of exiting ihram is wherever You detain me."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِضُبَاعَةَ بِنْتِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ «أَتُرِيدِينَ الْحَجَّ؟» قَالَتْ إِنِّي مَرِيضَةٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حُجِّي وَاشْتَرِطِي وَقُولِي اللهُمَّ مَحِلِّي حَيْثُ حَبَسْتَنِي
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Dubāʿah bint al-Zubayr b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib: "Do you intend to perform Hajj?" She said, "I am ill." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: "Perform Hajj and stipulate a condition, and say: O Allah, my place of exiting ihram is wherever You detain me."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَى ضُبَاعَةَ بِنْتِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهَا «لَعَلَّكِ أَرَدْتِ الْحَجَّ؟» قَالَتْ وَاللهِ مَا أَجِدُنِي إِلَّا وَجِعَةً فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حُجِّي وَاشْتَرِطِي قُولِي اللهُمَّ مَحِلِّي حَيْثُ حَبَسْتَنِي
✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered upon Dubāʿah bint al-Zubayr b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib, who was married to al-Miqdād b. al-Aswad, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said to her: "Perhaps you intend to perform Hajj?" She said, "By Allah, I find myself only in pain." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: "Perform Hajj and stipulate a condition. Say: O Allah, my place of exiting ihram is wherever You detain me."
