حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ كَامِلٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا عَنْبَسَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

عَنْ صُمَيْتَةَ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي لَيْثِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ كَانَتْ فِي حِجْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُهَا تُحَدِّثُ صَفِيَّةَ ابْنَةَ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَلْيَمُتْ فَإِنَّهُ يَمُتْ شَهِيدًا وَيُشَفَّعُ لَهُ»

✧ From Sumaytah, a woman from Banu Layth b. Bakr who was in the care of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: I heard her telling Safiyyah bint Abi 'Ubayd that she heard the Prophet ﷺ say: "Whoever among you is able to die in Madinah, let him die there, for he will die as a martyr and intercession will be made for him."
