  1. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6061Sahih

    سَمِعَ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ شَرِيكٍ يَقُولُ شَهِدْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَالْأَعْرَابُ يَسْأَلُونَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ عَلَيْنَا جُنَاحٌ فِي كَذَا؟ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَقَالَ «عِبَادَ اللَّهِ وَضَعَ اللَّهُ الْ حَرَجَ إِلَّا امْرُؤٌ اقْتَرَضَ مِنْ عِرْضِ أَخِيهِ شَيْئًا فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي حَرِجَ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَهَلْ عَلَيْنَا جُنَاحٌ أَنْ نَتَدَاوَى؟ فَقَالَ «تَدَاوَوْا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَضَعْ دَاءً إِلَّا وَضَعَ لَهُ دَوَاءً» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَمَا خَيْرُ مَا أُعْطِيَ الْعَبْدُ؟ قَالَ «خُلُقٌ حَسَنٌ» قَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَا عَلَى وَجْهِ الْأَرْضِ الْيَوْمَ إِسْنَادٌ أَجْوَدُ مِنْ هَذَا

    ✧ I heard Usamah b. Sharik say: I witnessed the Prophet ﷺ while the bedouins were asking him, 'O Messenger of Allah, is there any blame on us in such-and-such?' twice. He said: 'Servants of Allah, Allah has removed hardship, except a man who borrows something from his brother's honor—that is the one who is in hardship.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, is there any blame on us if we seek medical treatment?' He said: 'Seek medical treatment, O servants of Allah, for Allah has not placed any disease except that He has placed for it a cure.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the best thing given to a servant?' He said: 'Good character.' Sufyan said: 'There is no chain of narration on the face of the earth today better than this.'

  2. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6062Sahih

    «إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يُنْزِلْ دَاءً إِلَّا أَنْزَلَ مَعَهُ دَوَاءٌ جَهِلَهُ مَنْ جَهِلَهُ وَعَلِمَهُ مَنْ عَلِمَهُ»

    ✧ The Prophet Muhammadﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has not sent down a disease except that He has also sent down its cure. Some people may be aware of it while others may be unaware."

  3. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6063Sahih

    «إِنَّ لِكُلِّ دَاءٍ دَوَاءً فَإِذَا أُصِيبَ دَوَاءُ الدَّاءِ بَرَأَ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ»

    There is a remedy for every malady, and when the remedy is applied to the disease it is cured with the permission of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious. (Using translation from Muslim 2204)

  4. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6064Sahih

    «تَدَاوَوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يُنْزِلْ دَاءً إِلَّا وَقَدْ أَنْزَلَ لَهُ شِفَاءً إِلَّا السَّامَ وَالْهَرَمَ»

    ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Treat yourselves, for indeed Allah has not sent down any disease except that He has also sent down its cure, except for old age and death."

  5. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6065Sahih

    أَنَّهُمْ أَتَوَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ يُقَالُ لَهُ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّا نَصْنَعُ الْخَمْرَ فَنَهَاهُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا نَتَدَاوَى بِهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَتْ بِدَوَاءٍ إِنَّهَا دَاءٌ»

    ✧ They came to the Prophet ﷺ, and a man from Khath'am called Suwayd b. Tariq stood up to him and said: 'We make wine.' He forbade him from it. He said: 'We only use it as medicine.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'It is not a cure; it is a disease.'

  6. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6066Sahih

    «إِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ»

    ✧ The intensity of fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it with water.

    «الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَوْرِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَطْفِئُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ»

    ✧ Fever is from the heat of Hell, so extinguish it with water.

  8. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6068Sahih

    كُنْتُ أَدْفَعُ النَّاسَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَاحْتَبَسْتُ أَيَّامًا فَقَالَ مَا حَبَسَكَ؟ قُلْتُ الْحُمَّى قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ»

    ✧ I used to keep people away from Ibn Abbas. I was detained for some days, and he said: 'What detained you?' I said: 'Fever.' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it with Zamzam water.""

  9. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6069Weak

    أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «اكْشِفِ الْبَأْسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ الشَّمَّاسِ» ثُمَّ أَخَذَ تُرَابًا مِنْ بُطْحَانَ فَجَعَلَهُ فِي قَدَحٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَصَبَّهُ عَلَيْهِ

    ✧ He entered upon him and said: 'Remove the affliction, Lord of mankind, from Thabit b. Qays b. al-Shammas.' Then he took some dust from Buthan, put it in a cup with water, and poured it over him.

    أَنَّهَا أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِابْنٍ لَهَا لَمْ يَأْكُلِ الطَّعَامَ وَقَدْ أَعْلَقَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «عَلَامَ تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْإِعْلَاقِ؟ عَلَيْكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ يَعْنِي بِهِ الْكُسْتَ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ»

    ✧ She brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a son of hers who had not eaten food, and she had treated him with 'udhra (a throat ailment). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Why do you press your children's throats with this treatment? Use this Indian wood—meaning costus—for it contains seven cures, including pleurisy.'

  11. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6071Sahih

    «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ، فَإِنَّ فِيهَا شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا السَّامَ»

    from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said: "Use the black seed, for in it is healing from every thing except death."

  12. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6072Sahih

    «خَيْرُ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الْإِثْمِدُ عِنْدَ النَّوْمِ يُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ وَيَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ»

    ✧ The best of your kohl is ithmid; when applied at bedtime, it makes the hair grow and clears the eyesight.

  13. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6073Sahih

    «إِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الْإِثْمِدُ فَإِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ»

    ✧ Among the best of your kohl is ithmid, for it clears the eyesight and makes the hair grow.

  14. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6074Sahih

    خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَفِي يَدِهِ أَكْمُؤٌ فَقَالَ «هَؤُلَاءِ مِنَ الْمَنِّ وَمَاؤُهَا شِفَاءٌ لِلْعَيْنِ»

    ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us with truffles in his hand and said: 'These are from the manna, and their water is a cure for the eye.'

  15. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6075Sahih

    «مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ دَاءً إِلَّا أَنْزَلَ لَهُ دَوَاءً فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِأَلْبَانِ الْبَقَرِ فَإِنَّهَا تَرُمُّ مِنْ كُلِّ الشَّجَرِ»

    ✧ Allah has not sent down any disease except that He has sent down a cure for it. So take to the milk of cows, for they graze upon every kind of tree.

  16. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6076Sahih

    أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَادَ الْمُقَنَّعَ فَقَالَ لَا أَبْرَحُ حَتَّى تَحْتَجِمَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ فِيهِ شِفَاءً»

    ✧ Jabir b. 'Abd Allah visited al-Muqanna' and said: "I will not leave until you have cupping done, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Indeed, in it there is healing.'"

  17. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6077Sahih

    «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ احْتَجَمَ عَلَى الْأَخْدَعَيْنِ وَالْكَاهِلِ»

    ✧ The Prophet ﷺ had cupping done on the two jugular veins and the upper back.

  18. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6078Hasan sahih

    أَنَّ أَبَا هِنْدٍ حَجَمَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي الْيَافُوخِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَنْكِحُوا أَبَا هِنْدٍ وَانْكِحُوا إِلَيْهِ» فَقَالَ «إِنْ كَانَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِمَّا تَدَاوَوْنَ بِهِ خَيْرٌ فَالْحِجَامَةُ»

    ✧ Abu Hind performed cupping on the Prophet ﷺ on the fontanelle. The Prophet ﷺ said: "O company of the Ansar, marry Abu Hind, and marry into his family." And he said: "If there is any good in what you treat with, then it is cupping."

  19. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6079Hasan sahih

    أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «أَمَرَ بِابْنِ زُرَارَةَ أَنْ يُكْوَى»

    ✧ The Prophet ﷺ ordered that Ibn Zurara be cauterized.

  20. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6080Sahih

    «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَوَى أَسْعَدَ بْنَ زُرَارَةَ مِنَ الشَّوْكَةِ»

    ✧ The Prophet ﷺ cauterized As'ad b. Zurara for a thorn wound.

  21. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6081Sahih

    «نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْكَيِّ فَاكْتَوَيْنَا فَمَا أَفْلَحْنَا وَلَا أَنْجَحْنَا»

    ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from cauterization, but we cauterized and were not successful nor did we succeed.

  22. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6082Sahih

    «جَاءَ نَاسٌ فَسَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَاحِبٍ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَكْوُوهُ فَسَكَتَ ثُمَّ سَأَلُوهُ ثَلَاثًا فَسَكَتَ وَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ»

    ✧ Some people came and asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a companion of theirs that they should cauterize him. He remained silent, then they asked him three times, and he remained silent and disliked that.

  23. Sahih Ibn Hibban 6083No grade recorded

    «رُمِيَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ سَعْدٌ فَقُطِعَ أَكْحَلُهُ فَنَزَفَهُ فَانْتَفَخَتْ يَدُهُ فَحَسَمَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِالنَّارِ فَنَزَفَهُ فَحَسَمَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِالنَّارِ أُخْرَى»

    ✧ "On the Day of Al-Ahzab (the Confederates), Saad was hit and his eye was injured. It started bleeding and his hand swelled. The Prophet ﷺ cauterized it with fire, stopping the bleeding and reducing the swelling."
