أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَمْرَةَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ أَدْفَعُ النَّاسَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَاحْتَبَسْتُ أَيَّامًا فَقَالَ مَا حَبَسَكَ؟ قُلْتُ الْحُمَّى قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ»

✧ I used to keep people away from Ibn Abbas. I was detained for some days, and he said: 'What detained you?' I said: 'Fever.' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it with Zamzam water.""
