    " نَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ. فَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تَأْمُرَ أَصْحَابَكَ أَنْ يَرْفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ بِالتَّلْبِيَةِ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ شِعَارِ الْحَجِّ

    ✧ Jibrīl descended to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Allah commands you to command your companions to raise their voices with the talbiyah, for it is among the rites of Hajj.

    مَاتَ رَجُلٌ وَرَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ فَآذَنُوا بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ غَلَّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَتَغَيَّرَ لِذَلِكَ لَوْنُهُ فَفَتَّشُوا مَتَاعَهُ فَإِذَا فِيهِ خَرَزٌ مِنْ خَرَزِ الْيَهُودِ لَا يُسَاوِي دِرْهَمَيْنِ

    ✧ A man died and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from Khaybar, so they informed the Prophet ﷺ about him. He said: Pray over your companion, for he has stolen from the spoils in the cause of Allah, and his color changed because of that. They searched his belongings and found in them beads from the beads of the Jews worth less than two dirhams.

    ✧ Hammād narrated to us, from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd, from Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā b. Ḥabbān, from a man, from Zayd b. Khālid, from the Prophet ﷺ, with something similar.

    " لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ: لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ وَسِوَاكُهُ مِنْ أُذُنِهِ مَوْضِعَ الْقَلَمِ مِنْ أُذُنِ الْكَاتِبِ

    ✧ Were it not that I would impose hardship on my ummah, I would have commanded them to use the siwāk at every prayer. Abū Salamah said: I saw Zayd b. Khālid with his siwāk at his ear, like the pen at the ear of a scribe.

    أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْأَمَةِ تَزْنِي قَبْلَ أَنْ تُحْصَنَ قَالَ: إِذَا زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا، ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا، ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا، ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَبِيعُوهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ مِنْ شَعَرٍ

    ✧ The Prophet ﷺ was asked about a slave woman who commits adultery before she is married. He said: If she commits adultery, flog her; then if she commits adultery, flog her; then if she commits adultery, flog her; then if she commits adultery, sell her, even for a rope of hair.

    صَرَخَ دِيكٌ يَوْمًا وَنَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَبَّهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: " لَا تَسُبَّهُ

    ✧ A rooster crowed one day while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and a man cursed it. He said: Do not curse it.

    كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلُ، وَقَالَ: أَنْشُدُكَ اللهُ أَلَا قَضَيْتَ بَيْنَنَا بِكِتَابِ اللهِ، فَقَامَ خَصْمُهُ وَكَانَ أَفْقَهَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ: أَجَلْ فَاقْضِ بَيْنَنَا بِكِتَابِ اللهِ وَائْذَنْ لِي فَأَتَكَلَّمْ قَالَ: قُلْ قَالَ: إِنَّ ابْنِي كَانَ عَسِيفًا عَلَى هَذَا فَزَنَى بِامْرَأَتِهِ فَأُخْبِرْتُ أَنَّ عَلَى ابْنِي الرَّجْمَ، فَافْتَدَيْتُ مِنْهُ بِمِائَةِ شَاةٍ وَخَادِمٍ، ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُ رِجَالًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ فَأَخْبَرُونِي أَنَّ عَلَى ابْنِي جَلْدَ مِائَةٍ وَتَغْرِيبَ عَامٍ وَأَنَّ عَلَى امْرَأَةِ هَذَا الرَّجْمَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَأَقْضِيَنَّ بَيْنَكُمَا بِكِتَابِ اللهِ الْمِائَةُ شَاةٍ وَالْخَادِمُ رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى ابْنِكَ جَلْدُ مِائَةٍ وَتَغْرِيبُ عَامٍ، وَاغْدُ أَنْتَ يَا أُنَيْسُ عَلَى امْرَأَةِ هَذَا، فَإِنِ اعْتَرَفَتْ فَارْجُمْهَا " فَغَدَا عَلَيْهَا فَاعْتَرَفَتْ فَرَجَمَهَا

    ✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man stood up to him and said: I adjure you by Allah, will you not judge between us according to the Book of Allah? His opponent stood up, and he was more knowledgeable than him, and said: Yes, judge between us according to the Book of Allah, and permit me to speak. He said: Speak. He said: My son was a laborer for this man, and he committed adultery with his wife. I was told that my son must be stoned, so I ransomed him with one hundred sheep and a servant. Then I asked men of knowledge and they told me that my son must be given one hundred lashes and banished for a year, and that the wife of this man must be stoned. The Prophet ﷺ said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I will judge between you according to the Book of Allah. The one hundred sheep and the servant are to be returned to you, and your son is to be given one hundred lashes and banished for a year. And you, O Unays, go to the wife of this man, and if she confesses, stone her. So he went to her, and she confessed, and he stoned her.

    مُطِرَ النَّاسُ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحُوا قَالَ: " أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا مَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ ؟ قَالَ: مَا أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَى عِبَادِي نِعْمَةً إِلَّا أَصْبَحَ بِهَا فَرِيقٌ كَافِرٌ يَقُولُونَ: مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَأَمَّا مَنْ آمَنَ بِي وَحَمِدَنِي عَلَى سُقْيَايَ، فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي آمَنَ بِي وَكَفَرَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ، وَأَمَّا مَنْ قَالَ: مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِي وَآمَنَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ

    ✧ People were rained upon one night during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When morning came, he said: "Did you not hear what your Lord said tonight? He said: I have not bestowed any blessing upon My servants except that a group among them became disbelievers by it, saying: 'We were given rain by such-and-such a star.' As for the one who believes in Me and praises Me for My sending down of rain, that is the one who believes in Me and disbelieves in the star. And as for the one who says: 'We were given rain by such-and-such a star,' that is the one who disbelieves in Me and believes in the star."

    لَا تَمْنَعُوا إِمَاءَ اللهِ مَسَاجِدَ اللهِ وَلْيَخْرُجْنَ تَفِلَاتٍ.

    ✧ Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from the mosques of Allah, and let them go out without perfume.

    أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ اللُّقَطَةِ فَقَالَ: احْفَظْ عِقَاصَهَا وَوِكَاءَهَا ثُمَّ عَرِّضْهَا سَنَةً ثُمَّ إِنْ جَاءَ صَاحِبُهَا فَرُدَّهَا إِلَيْهِ

    ✧ A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about a found item. He said: "Keep its strap and its tie, then announce it for a year, then if its owner comes, return it to him."

    وَسُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ ضَالَّةِ الْإِبِلِ ؟ فَقَالَ: مَا لَكَ وَلَهَا مَعَهَا حِذَاؤُهَا وَسِقَاؤُهَا تَرِدُ الْمَاءَ وَتَأْكُلُ الشَّجَرَ وَسُئِلَ عَنْ ضَالَّةِ الْغَنَمِ فَقَالَ: لَكَ أَوْ لِأَخِيكَ أَوْ لِلذِّئْبِ

    ✧ And the Prophet ﷺ was asked about a stray camel. He said: "What concern is it of yours? It has its own shoes and its own water-skin; it can come to water and eat trees." And he was asked about a stray sheep. He said: "It is for you, or for your brother, or for the wolf."

    " مَنْ فَطَّرَ صَائِمًا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ وَلَا يَنْتَقِصُ مِنْ أَجْرِ الصَّائِمِ شَيْئًا، وَمَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَوْ خَلَفَهُ فِي أَهْلِهِ كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ الْغَازِي وَلَا يَنْتَقِصُ مِنْ أَجْرِ الْغَازِي شَيْئًا

    ✧ "Whoever breaks the fast of a fasting person will have the like of his reward, without reducing anything from the reward of the fasting person. And whoever equips a warrior in the path of Allah or takes his place in his family will have the like of the reward of the warrior, without reducing anything from the reward of the warrior."

    قَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ ضَحَايَا قَالَ: فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ بِعَتُودٍ جَذَعٍ فَجِئْتُ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهُ جَذَعٌ فَقَالَ: " ضَحِّ بِهِ

    ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed sacrificial animals among his companions. He said: He sent me a young goat, and I brought it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, it is a young goat. He said: "Sacrifice it."

    ✧ "The best of witnesses is the one who gives his testimony before he is asked for it."

    " مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ، مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَسْكُتْ، وَالضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ فَمَا زَادَ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ

    ✧ "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him say good or remain silent. Hospitality is for three days; whatever is beyond that is charity."

    " لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ وَلَا كَلْبٌ قَالَ: وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " إِلَّا رَقْمًا فِي ثَوْبٍ.

    ✧ "Angels do not enter a house in which there is an image or a dog." He said: And I heard him say: "Except a figure on a cloth."

    " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَامَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ ثُمَّ فَزِعَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ طَوِيلَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا دُونَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَهُمَا، ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا دُونَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَهُمَا، ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا دُونَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَهُمَا، ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا دُونَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَهُمَا، ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ فَذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً

    ✧ "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sleep one night, then he woke up startled and stood and prayed two short rak'ahs. Then he stood and prayed two long rak'ahs. Then he prayed two short rak'ahs, which were less than the two before them. Then he prayed two rak'ahs, which were less than the two before them. Then he prayed two rak'ahs, which were less than the two before them. Then he prayed two rak'ahs, which were less than the two before them. Then he prayed witr, so that was thirteen rak'ahs."

    أَرْسَلَنِي أَبُو جُهَيْمٍ إِلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْمَارِّ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْمُصَلِّي فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمَارُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْمُصَلِّي مَاذَا عَلَيْهِ كَانَ لَأَنْ يَقُومَ أَرْبَعِينَ خَرِيفًا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمُرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

    ✧ Abu Juhaym sent me to Zayd b. Khalid to ask him about one who passes in front of a person praying. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "If the one who passes in front of a person praying knew what is upon him, it would be better for him to stand for forty autumns than to pass in front of him."
