✧ The Prophet ﷺ sent a man from the Asad tribe, called Ibn al-Lutbiyyah, to collect the zakat. He came and said: 'This is for you, and this was given to me as a gift.' The Messenger of God ﷺ stood on the pulpit, praised and extolled God, then said: 'What is the matter with the agent whom we send to do our work, and he comes and says: This was given to me as a gift, and this is for you? Why did he not sit in the house of his father or the house of his mother and see whether a gift comes to him or not? By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, none of you will bring anything from it secretly except that he will come with it on the Day of Resurrection carrying it on his neck: if it is a camel, it will be bellowing; if a cow, it will be mooing; or if a sheep, it will be bleating.' Then he raised his hands until we saw the whiteness of his armpits, then he said: 'O God, have I conveyed?' three times.

✧ I know the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ best." They said: "You were not the earliest of us in his company, nor the most frequent of us in following him." He said: "Indeed I am." He said: "Then present it." He said: "When he ﷺ stood for prayer, he stood straight. Then he said the takbir and raised his hands until they were level with his shoulders. When he wanted to bow, he raised his hands until they were level with his shoulders, then said: 'Allahu akbar.' Then he raised [his head], then stood straight, neither lowering his head nor raising it, and placed his hands on his knees. Then he said: 'Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah' and raised [his head] and stood straight until every bone returned to its place, upright. Then he went down in prostration to the ground and said: 'Allahu akbar.' Then he kept his upper arms away from his sides and spread the toes of his feet. Then he folded his left leg and sat on it, and stayed upright until every bone returned to its place, upright. Then he went down to the ground and said: 'Allahu akbar.' Then he got up. Then he did the same in the second rak'ah. When he rose from the two prostrations, he said the takbir and raised his hands until they were level with his shoulders, just as he had done when starting the prayer. Then he did likewise until, in the rak'ah in which the prayer would end, he moved his left leg back and sat on his side, mutawarrikan, then said the salam.
