✧ Abu Mahdhurah ؓ gave the call for the noon prayer while Umar ؓ was in Makkah, and he raised his voice when the sun had passed its zenith. Umar ؓ said: 'O Abu Mahdhurah, do you not fear that your windpipe will split?' He ؓ said: 'I wanted to make you hear.' Umar ؓ said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Delay the prayer until it is cooler when the heat is intense, for the heat is from the blast of Hell. Hell complained until parts of it consumed other parts, and it asked permission of Allah, Blessed and Exalted, for two breaths, and He permitted it. So the intensity of heat is from the blast of Hell, and the intensity of extreme cold is from its cold."'
